Thought I'd post up here since it's your area and we have a common aquantance, Gail. I'm taking my son for a ride before he moves out to go to college in a few weeks. Leaving in first am (from Miramonte), b-line to Oakhurst, 49 to Jamestown, 108 to 395 and gas up in Bridgeport. Then up to Markleeville and camp out near Grover Hot Springs. Then head out 4 to 49 and home. Any ideas welcome, and if you see a silver FZ1 and black EX500, honk or ride along.
Cheers,
Tom

It sounds like it is going to be mostly pavement if not all of it?

But it might be kind of cool to be part of the big picture for a change. I keep hearing about this big picture and how i dont see it. Know what I mean!

I wish I could, but I have to work an afternoon group this weekend.

Yeah, Gail knows a lot of riding areas in the foothills. It should be a good one. It can get pretty dusty sometimes depending on how many people are there?

I'll be there

I will be at Woods Creek Cafe around 9:30 on the Blue/Silver KLR. Could ride the WR but I think there will be too much pavement. Looking forward to learning the route from Hwy.108 to Hwy. 4.

I'm goining to Lake Almanor this weekend. Had a change of plans, I'm bringing the wife, and decided to take the mountain bikes instead of the motorcycles.

I should have more riding time in September?

If no one else wanted to ride i was thinking of hitting the road early and having B-fast in Mariposa and then riding the back roads to Coulterville. (briceburg climb and then the forest roads that seem to always drop me out around groveland area. but I am not set on anything and would be willing to consider anything...I just promised the wife we would go to San Fran for diner Sat night and spend the night...She works nights so she will be up around 1:00pm....thus my time constraints

Briceburg? I know someone who just took a ride there today. If anyone's interested, maybe I'll post some photos and a GPX file tomorrow. Too tired tonight.

Mr B, I just rode back from Groveland that way last weekend. I know the road well. Do you mind if your bike gets dirty?
