08' 990 adventure blown fuse problem

I have an 08' 990 adventure that just failed to start. I only have around 4000 miles on it and the main fuse for the ignition blows when the kill switch is turned to the on position. If the kill switch if off and the key is on it doesn't blow. Once you turn the kill switch to the on position it blows. I have stripped the bike down and can not find any bare wires anywhere. Could it be a short in the starter? If anyone has any ideas of what the problem could be I would very much appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.

Hi osmanaltug, my problem ended up being a grounded out wire. when I changed the oil and removed the crash bars I inadvertently clamped it back over a small wire running down the frame rail and it was shorting out on the frame. once I repaired the wire the problem was solved! good luck!!
