Dang,I think were all aware there is ice out there now,2 crashes,1 broken leg,1 very near crash all on one small ADV thread. Its January.

Lets try and use our heads before things go any more sideways.
Or get studded tires.

I did pick up a nice 46 hour 06 525EXC,just got it in my name at DMV,will get it plated as soon as the title shows up. Came with a full dualsport kit, steering damper, ktm skid plate, handguards and some other bits and pieces. Runs and sounds great!

Tehama County Trails Tallied

Thoughts?

http://www.redbluffdailynews.com/business/ci_24933103/tehama-county-trails-tallied

New website linked on county site:
http://www.zeemaps.com/view?group=727242&x=-122.078986&y=40.130951&z=9

Reason I ask is cuz I also read where the NY Times listed Mendo as 3rd best place to visit in the WORLD! Then the usual accolades were given for protecting and preserving public lands, etc. and I figured my ab diving days are getting shorter and shorter. Sometimes secrets are good, like when town of Bolinas always pulled up their town sign through the 70s. ;-)

Trails in tehama

Damn Stu. I have thoughts.
Like maybe I should take this fellow out "snipe" hunting on one of these trails.
I have gave up mostly on keeping secrets. with the computer and GPS nothing is hidden any more.
This seems to be a list of some places, as well as some "Trails". Many are Hiking trails, and some very good ones. I am glad to see several of my favorites missing from this list. We do seem to have lots of "trails".

This is cattle country and the locals have a thing for four legged animals.
many of the Trails in Tehama Co. are only horse or foot traffic. and the locals will also be more than glad to have you arrested for rolling a motorized vehicle on anything designed for said horses.

If anybody does want to try riding one of these trails,{ the non OHV type }
don't do the BLM ones. it is a bust, and I will not go into details.

Now lets go back to talking about all the great ground East of Chico.
Hop-Sing.

Roger that! (just keeping an eye on things up around there as sis' lives in Coffee Creek and I aim to get up there more often real soon) And terrorize your neighborhood too of course.

We had 5 of 6 riders go down on ice on my last DS ride a couple weeks ago, up around 6800', but we were being foolish. Only the guy on the plated 300 stayed up, which makes no sense. lol

Are overnight lows comfortable enough yet for an overnighter adv/ds ride in your area? Gimme a holler when you are ready to show me all your secret trails that head out to Mendo (my favorite place to visit in the whole world). :-)

overnighters

The Big Valley, temps are touching freezing every night.{270ft} 4000 ft is going to be 20 degrees. that's a little chilly for this guy.
I am not planning an overnighter until February 21st and 22nd. Rain or shine.

Hey Mike, do ride the single track in that area or just the roads?

Bob , Never ridden any single track in that area . I rode over there to Roger's and Little North Fork to camp in November and meet fellow rider Reuel, he mentioned you , saying I should check out some of the rides you put on. I prefer dirt but will ride paved to get somewhere. I ride a crf 250L in stock form so it's not exactly a single track weapon if you know what I mean. 50 degree's this mourning at 1800 ft. but a bit on the windy side so my overnighter is on hold for now. Mike

This is my girlfriend

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...5683334&type=1

She is a ten time world champ on a Trials Bike, and can ride a dirt bike faster than any of us.

She wont marry me, she says she's not ready to slow down.

She would wear you out faster than she goes thru rings on a 125 two stroke. My girl will take much better care of me and hopefully our relationship will last for many years.

This is my new girlfriend - followed me home from Ukiah Tuesday night:

Nice! Now that you've had it a while and the bloom is off the vine...................Ive got a SWEET DR650 I could be persuaded to trade for it,one of the nicest DR's ever with many special OEM parts.

Those KTM's are nothing but trouble and you will thank me in the long run.
Thanks and let me know

Sheeit, she could kick all us old guy's asses, while riding one handed and drinking a Red Bull.

And Stu,again, many singletrack trails are open above Chico, nobody here wants to ride. Bring a 2 stroke.
