Hey Brad

I've been wondering how the 525 has been coming along. Look forward to seeing you out on the trails this year. Looks like you had a nice ride today also, lot's of people taking advantage of the nice weather. More rain coming this week, BRING IT!

Ya my days off are generally Monday and Tuesday and most people work on my off days, once I get the XT dialed in I'll be ready, actually the Wee Strom is ready for most anything but single track, hopefully we can all chase squirrels together soon.

This is what I met up with the next time I went through.
there was some ice melting and I was able to chip a path next to the road where the ice was thinnest.
you can see the water running under the ice in some spots.
this was on Colyear rd and really the only bad spot, there where some "shiny dirt" in a couple other places but I was able to pass over without slipping.

Looking forward to camping in the rain. Our Trials season kicks off next Saturday down at Frank Raines OHV park. Down 5 to Patterson, then off into the monster hills. The creeks should be high. And the girls are staying home.

Maroon, or green truck.

Rain Ride

4 of us unloaded up above Pulga today in a driving rain,we were going riding and that was the deal. Got in 35 miles of great singletrack,gore-tex was the preferred dress code. We drug some big trees off trails, wheelied through huge puddles and generally had way more fun then would be thought possible in the rain.

Goggles were abandoned within the first 15 minutes, riding through rain/fog/clouds they were useless.

Short 75 mile ride today

Took off up Browns Ravine road just for fun (still dialing in the suspension) I wanted to see if I could take the cross over to Philbrook Lake from Browns Ravine Rd. That road has been known to get washed out pretty bad after some hard rains so I thought I would check it out, got close to the top but on the shady side of the mountain and got turned around.

I didn't try to go further, it was progressively getting worse and the tracks I was following didn't appear to go much further about a half mile further than the above pic. So I turned around a tried to get further up Browns Ravine Rd. up towards Concow Rd. I was having a blast, bike was performing great, suspension felt pretty cush, my elbows and shoulders were HAPPY! But I got turned around there also.
I was still climbing in altitude so it wasn't worth trying to go further.

From there I just rode back toward Skyway and made a stop at the creek for a drink of water and short break.

That water was tasty, nothing like fresh snow runoff. MMMMM.
Happy bike = happy rider.

I left there and went on up to Skyway, hung a right and rode up towards Philbrook Lake, could I get there?
Yep

Stood there for awhile admiring the lake and just enjoyed being out. I love living where I do, I just can't figure out why I don't take the time to do more fishing. Only reason I can think of is, I'm always riding.

From there it was time to head home and deal with a leaking kitchen sink.
It was a fun ride for 2-3 hours and I'm lovin the bike. Beautiful day for a ride.
Ride on.

Redog,

Came across about 20 of these in Argentina last week, thought you would be interested as a fellow Willys lover. Most had this front end, few looked like a stock Willys.

Looks different,

Looks like a modified Jeep Gladiator pick-up front end. There's a lot of cool stuff in other countries that we don't get here. If we got it here, it wouldn't be as cool. , just another vehicle.
