Glad to hear your leg healed and your Jammin again. Gotta put some Peter Pan into effect when you arrive home and look for your "happy place"when you return,I can't fly yet but it makes me feel better.I try to be a kid stuck in a adult world.

I just got home 12 minutes before you posted this. Patience
I'll put up a link to the ride report when I do it. I've got some pics but some of you might not find them very interesting. Planning this again for next year with a little different agenda.

Wink Ok here you go..

I'm dragging ass today, AssDragger, HAH! anyways, go to page 72 here http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...938131&page=72
for pics of the rally. My RR won't be that exciting so don't get your hopes up.
I will get it done. Spent some of my day today trying to figure out how to get all of the crap that I load on the KLR loaded on the KTM for an upcoming trip.
I don't know how you guys do it and still try to maintain a certian level of comfort. I can't afford high quality back-packing gear.

Where is the KTM going? I dont think there's any way to load all that fits on a KLR,onto a 530/525/500 KTM,minimalist is the word.

A couple of little changes to the gear, we'll see how it all works out.
Taking off for the coast for a couple of days. Been planning it for a couple of months.

Nice! I ended up not going to Idaho with the 300, the ankle I sprained riding at Ragdump is healing very slow, its ok to walk on but cant wear a dirtbike boot for more then 10 minutes.
Excruciating pressure points from the boot.

We should do a high lakes tour sometime this summer on KTM's.

for that kind of technical riding this year. I hope so but I got up on a roof today and had trouble getting down. Going up was fine but stepping off of the roof onto the ladder was tricky. Very unsure of the leg. Smooth forest roads aren't a problem, but rocky technical may be a little different. A fall trip might be in order, early October maybe, get a few more months of healing in and see where I'm at after this coast trip. We don't heal so easily the older we get. I do love the High Lakes area.

If you decide to try a smoother forest road trip, let me know. Sounds like fun to me.

but probably the riding I'll be doing will gradually get rougher so I can build my comfort level. Most of the roads I ride can get somewhat rocky. I do want to ride over to Butt Lake sometime this year. Never been there. That's a pretty smooth ride for the most part.

Ive ridden up to Butt Lake from Caribou on hiway 70,as long as the signs are in place its pretty straight forward on dirt road.
Caribou still serves breakfast as far as I know.

I used to water ski on Butt lake as a kid, they dont allow it anymore.

High Lakes

I want to go. What kind of fuel range would I need.

And Redog1 I can not believe you have never been to Butt lake.
isn't it only about 45 miles from your house, the way the crow fly's.

I am just back from our last Trials event, Loads of fun with good people. Very tight competition in my class. 3 of the 4 riders that I was riding with tied. after 30 sections. I was fortunate to win the tie breaker. A whole story in itself.

Slight break now to gain some strength for the next round of adventure.
Smiles while sleeping.
