What was the mileage from Chico to the next possible gas station? Redbluff or Los Molinos?

from hwy 99 to Los Molinas...

is about 15miles, Red Bluff you're right there within a couple of miles. From the flyer gas station and back is approx 135 miles so Chico to Los Molinas around that loop would be approx 110 miles. Should be easily doable (without many side trips and depending on throttle use) on a 2.5 gallon tank. Me, the 6.0 gallons on a klr is not a problem.

There's some fast parts of the route but I would have prefered to slow down and take it in a little more. I did stop and take a few pics, also a snack break. I have 39 pics to post in a RR when I get to it. I didn't want to get caught out in the dark and colder temps. Next time I'll leave a little earlier but I was kind of expecting to meet up with a couple of others. I checked for updates to the post at around 7:00 AM and never looked back. . When in doubt, just ride.

Wow, sure was a nice day.... Liked the link with your Spot.. Looked to be a nice route and likely traffic was not much of an issue. I should try to ride more pavement. Gerry

Cool video, I'm too out of shape right now to do that with my current bike.

Nothing big, just a short run up into the hills to warm up the oil. This is the end of the road in Cohasset

The road turned to mainly ice an snow so I stopped.

Raglin Ridge,

I could have gone much further If I had gone on the first day of snow rather then letting things ice over for two days but I had family dealings the prier two days.

Another Winter adventure. Thanks KYO. Certainly looks to be a manageable depth had it not been iced over. As I am on the Paradise ridge, during this time of year it is not uncommon to see snow in the Mendocino as I drive down the Skyway and get a good view across the valley. In very general terms, is the Raglin Ridge loop open more often than not during the Winter or are most rides in that area aborted due to snow/ice, mud/muck and downed trees.

The best I was able to do was roll my bike out to the drive-way and run it for 15 minutes to charge the battery. Thanks again you guys for the inspirational photos. Gerry
