So there I am riding up in Cohasset testing the new beast. Not even thinking about how much fuel I had before I started. The PO said there was about half a tank, thought I was good.

I got high enough and the smile on my face was rather large when I started shivering because I didn't really dress for it. I turn around and get downhill on the pavement headed home and ......putt putt spit spit.....I'm out if gas. Shift into neutral and coast thinking no biggy I'm not that far from home.

Casey comes along on his XR400 and asks if I need help. Well a little ways down the road we pull over and he finds a Coors Lite can and three beer cans later I'm on the way home! Rotflmao!

Thanks Casey!

I don't work until 2pm Sunday... Would like to finally meet ya and ride one of these days Bob.

How far up Cohasset did you make it? I could see a good amount of snow a few hundred yards on Ponderosa way after the Heli Pad from H-line still yesterday. So I'm guessing the puddles are still covered in snow as well? Thanks

That's a pretty good story.

2 Sundays ago I was out riding with some buddies up the 70. We figured we had enough gas to make it to the station at the intersection of the 191 and Durham-Petz Rd. We made it there on fumes to find the station was closed on Sunday. By then my friend on his Vintage Yamaha ran out of fuel. I rode up to Paradise and borrowed a fuel can and filled it. Was a very interesting ride back as I had the fuel can stuck between my windshield and handlebars.

Are you thinking of trying to go the rest of the way? How is the snow up there?

No real plans, but the west side past Ball Rock might be fun.

Maybe M4 to Anthony Peak? I'm looking to plot the quickest/shortest way over to Covelo. Plan on making a couple of overnight trips to the coast this spring and summer.
Last summer a friend and I made the trip but the roads were so poorly marked we ended up going over a few sketchy spots that added about one hour to the trip.
I'm not sure how far up we can make it due to snow, maybe I'll call the F.S. office tomorrow to check on the roads.

That's far enough South that I wont be bumping into you riding.

I tried to go to Tom Head lookout on the 19th, according to Google Earth I was hitting snow at around 3700ft.(that's where I stopped to turn around)
