Great event! Hop-Sing and family does a first class job.

I got a chuckle couple years ago riding this when one section had ranchers spectating in their western wear, while another section had some pirates watching. I was thinking I should wear a clown costume to round it out, plus it will match my trials skills. :-)

Fellow ADVers, stop by and say hello, we'll be in short Class C with "Spirit" on side, blue bike.

Kind of a funny deal, the guy who had been making payments on the store to the actual owner,up and gave the store back as he couldnt make money out there..............

Then shortly after re-taking possession by the actual owner of the store it burned down and he seems to have no plans to rebuild, the store happened to catch fire when there was too much snow for the fire truck to get in.

Odd chain of events.

In unrelated news,I took the 530KTM out to the desert outside of Reno last weekend. The Ridgeriders organized it,we had a local desert rat guiding us with GPS tracks and it was an absolute blast! We had 35 bikes and riders show up.

Rode tight singletrack, dry riverbeds, big sand hill climbs, all kinds of stuff.
2 guys cooked breakfast for the whole pack each morning, big potluck with bonfire sat night, great food!

Turns out my 530 will hit 90mph up a sandy trail with more in reserve.

The Ridgeriders are a local dirtbike/dualsport club based in Chico, used to be in Paradise.
There are club meetings at Chico Honda, there's 1 this Thu at 6 PM, and generally 2 a month on Thursdays,if anybody's interested shoot me a PM.

Now there's a couple interesting characters on Pulga Bridge.
Crown Point Rally should be a fun one.
Hows the Coast ride shaping up Bob?

Been making day trips up to Almanor this week. Humbug Rd is open the whole way for bikes and 4 wheel drive vehicles. Jonesville rd to Humbug is open. Humbolt Summit is Closed until sometime next week roughly due to "road widening and maintance".

Here's the impasse

Basically the roughest part of Humbug

Here's where our smoke today came from..You can see Black rock in the left hand portion of the pic. This is from Humbolt Rd.

This is from 32 early afternoon on the way back down. This just above "Windy Cut".

Doesn't get much better than this up there. Deer Creek Meadows:

It is on the left side of the road if you are heading NE. The Cold Springs are right there too.

Has anyone gone up the Shasta Bally rd by Whiskey Town? I was thinking about taking a ride up there sometime and checking it out, the map says "4-wheel-drive only" but is it a "dirt road" that is classified as 4 wheel drive only for safety reasons or do you actually need a 4 wheel drive? will my one wheel drive go up it just fine?

Shasta Bally

Easy road , the last 1/4 mile to the lookout, I would walk if I went again. I was on my Dakar and loaded with some old brake fluid. I went from buckhorn summit through to the Ditch grade road. that end is bully schoop. Now I see I am lost.

Shasta Bally : You talking about up past sheep camp, starting at Brandy creek. Same thing. except I thought that road had washed out and they where not going to fix it.

So now will someone tell us more. because we want more. we don't want less we want more, we want more. anyone following me ?

The gate to Shasta Bally is usually locked until early June. Beautiful views from up there, interesting climb, go from lake level to 6300 ft in just a few miles. I go at least once a year, when the gate opens....
