I'm glad you got a decent turnout of people, Sorry I couldn't join, I coughed all night and got zero sleep, thank you for sending me the GPS file, I checked it out and I actually wouldn't mind still checking out part of the run.

Hey Bob...

Thanks for putting this together. I had a great time. It was good to meet a lot of new people. I don't have any pics to add, I was too busy trying to catch Footdragger all day, just wasn't going to happen. Good riding with you all. Anybody want to ride, hit me up. Not tommorrow, gone fishin'. Interested in doing it again in a couple of weeks for sure.

I rode through there once on an RD 350,on the way from Cascade to hiway 70 and Westwood.
I remember a gravel road and not much more. Possibly some rocks, trees around the edges.

If I did it was because I didn't relize that's where I was at.
I'll look it up tonight when I get home and see exactly where Milsap Bar is.

Driven that route numerous times...

...but it has been a while. From Bald Mountain Road to Milsap isn't bad at all-some ruts at the bottom from tire tracks but easy to navigate on a bike. One or two uphill/downhill slightly off-camber turns but very easily navigated on a bike like a DL650.

From Milsap up to the Hartman Bar ridge is a little sketchier in some places. Many more turns, and steeper in sections, but they are navigable easily by full size vehicles so not that tight of a turn. Only thing to watch out for is the inside of the turns can get chewed up by car tires climbing out. Mostly hard pack dirt, with a few sections of small rocks (smaller than baby heads and still relatively easy to do).

Hope this helps...

Guess I really don't know...

...where you guys are talking about and can't find it with the info posted so far. Give me a point of reference (easy to find) and I'll go from there.

Check out these links:
http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_...sm9_034650.pdf
Township 21N R6E Section 2 (Milsap Bar campground)

http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_...sm9_034651.pdf
Township 22N, R6E Sections 36 and 31 (Milsap Bar road is the 22N62 road)

The 22N62 road connects to the 22N94 road, which is a fun back way to get to La Porte.

For what it's worth, for an "easy" big bike ride I'd recommend going down into Milsap from Bald Rock and up to the Hartman Bar ridge-some of the tighter turns coming out of Milsap going to the Hartman Bar ridge might not be fun for beginner riders like me going downhill...

I'll keep my eyes open for when you guys are planning on going...

Thanks guys,

No I haven't ridden that but I'm in if you're going to do it. I haven't ridden much on the other side of Hwy 70. I need to get out more. I'll have to get the other bike out for that one but it's ready.
