Miku, we all split lanes in Sydney. I got a hell of a shock when bikers in Florida got the shits when I did it there. Bugger 'em.

SteveAZ, if your mates are going to Lake Gairdner, why not head out that way and see some of the outback, then head east for the Flinders (beautifully rugged), Sunset country in Victoria and so on as per Burren's suggestions? It all depends upon how long you're here, because it's a big place. Basically, you can't go wrong no matter which way you point the wheels, but March can be uncomfortably (even dangerously) hot inland.
