I did score a fuel tank last weekend,,,,and I'm pretty happy about that.

It's a 50 gallon tank,,,,I was going to get a 60 gallon tank if I bought one but I can live with a 50,,,see'in how it was free.

That 454 ought to make *something* move pretty good. Now all you need is the 6-speed to go with it.

While yer at it, you ought to thank your lucky stars that you live in a state where an inquisitive, red-blooded, welder-owing dood can still do what comes naturally, and that is build shit.

Back to work.

Ok,,,I managed to get that big hunk of big block out of the wrecked truck and take the rest to the scrapyard this weekend. Which netted me more than half what I paid for the whole thing by the way.

So it's back to buisness now.

This afternoon was spent getting the inside of that fuel tank cleaned out.
It was in a gas powered vehicle and must've been sitting for a while cause what was left inside was NASTY.
I got a good start on it but it'll need a little more elbow grease before I can install it.

My last welding appointment opened up enough things for me to do that I'm almost at a loss as to where to begin again.

I should probably button up the floor in the cab THEN finish installing the other air tank and then I can install the tool boxes.

With the tool boxes in place it's actually difficult for me to get under the friggen thing,,,that's what I get for having a vehicle with a low ride height.

But it sure looks cool!

Time for a bump.

Today was spent replumbing the air system and eliminating the unused air lines.
I'm eliminating the air seat and the lines that the went to the entrance door which was air operated.
This thing had some sort of air operated interlock which applied the brakes when the door was open. This crap will also be eliminated.

I came up ONE ferrell short ,,so I can't test the air system tonight,,,,What,,,,,,,,the ,,,,,,fuck?

Can't you rig something up using the hose clamp that was holding the tie rod end on, on the truck you were scrapping, or the commpresion fitting that someone had used on the hydraulic brakes lines on the bus?

I managed to get the fitting I needed this morning and the air system is now DONE.
Later I started cutting the body panels,,,,I've been looking forward to this stage of the build,,,there is a visual reward after a good days work.

I'm gonna try to button up the body before moving on to the bed.

A bit of inspiration for you from a rig i saw this weekend.

Was never intended to haul any stinking motorbikes...

Very nice setup, has a shower and bathroom under the covered section in the rear. Couch, chair, TV, sink, RV table setup inside. Has A/c and with the water tank located on the roof rack, running water.

That's a pretty cool rig.

They must really squeeze those front tires in.....

Water on the roof is a good idea-no pump needed for most stuff. Maybe so for the shower...right?

The downside of a bus...is...well it is a bus. But cheap I hear.

What I want to know is if they bother with a ramp when loading that beast.
