or an branch line to the north. Ive wanted to patch a dirt road from US to far north for a while. there are several mexico to Canada off road routes, it would be cool to connect those at the CA border heading to yukon, hell maybe they exist and I dont know about it. I should get some ride time coming soon, I'm due.

Yehaa! A great couple of days of exploring. Just finished a 500 km stretch of very remote roads for the TCAT.....ended up in a town called Chibougamau. Did I mention very remote. One "new" road that isn't on any maps and it went for 200+ km's. Another big section of the route has been created

Couple of more days exploring to go

This doesn't look good... Is it part of the TCAT?

I'm basically set to head out on Tuesday. Deadly has kindly given me the route from Wawa to Timmins to Sudbury to test out (I'll be doing it backwards). To get there, I'll head to Tobermory from the GTA then across the ferry to Manitoulin Island. From there, across 17 with a few back roads to bypass Sault Ste Marie to get up to Wawa. After Sudbury, I'll be heading around to North Bay and then down the Old Nipissing Ghost Road. If I have the stamina after that, it'll be the Seguin trail across to 69 en route to Christian Island. Should be a couple of fun days.

More from the Island...

Well we spent the weekend running tracks for the TCAT and NI ride and were truly soured when we found one of the best mountain sideloops deactivated and made totally impassable by the forest company... It seems like this spring they have been digging up the roads and bridges like crazy on the Island...

Once again we tried to get through Kinman pass...

And found it impassable at 2,900 '

Paul made a gallant effort but as soon as the snow deepened his back wheel just punched through the hard crust...

He gave up when the snow got around 2 ' deep..

Something else to deal with when the snow melts, which won't likely be until August...

Too bad, maybe they could have tossed the bike in the back of one of the trucks.

Of course it wouldnt be a proper TCAT making of story without some of this....roads that go nowhere.....

And a story of two trucks getting lost from each other on a 200 km long gravel road and both not knowing who is in front and wondering WTF is this how this day ends out here in no mans land, thunder storms coming in and nowhere to stay (ended up in a gravel pit for the night).....

Rob after we finally found each other again
