I agree.

If you have it, you won't need it. If you don't have it, you will need it. You know how it goes.

Then again . . . one time many moons ago I almost couldn't get my dog back into the US after a little camping trip in Quebec because I didn't have the proper papers for him.

Personally, I'd get new paperwork . . . in ME you can get a new copy of your registration from the local DMV office for about $5. Why take a chance and be worried about it the whole trip.

Maps and gpx files should release progressively from around mid-October on graveltravel.ca (Ted correct me if I'm wrong). We are putting the final touch to the website in the next weeks. Stay tuned

GPS track files for the TNE route and a couple of other 2-3 routes will be available in October. Along with these routes in a section of the site that covers some of the popular roads/routes in NW of Canada (Canol, Dempster, etc).

The TCAT routes will be available in the fall of 2012. The TCAT is still a work in progress but looks to be on track for next falls release date.

Looks like Jenna is on her way north and is now in the state of Illinois and heading north

I crossed the border daily from 2000 to 2005 (so yes, also during the 9/11 crisis, took me 4 hours to get to work for about 2 months).

I've seen everything.

Typically, the Canadian guards didn't look up from the magazine they were reading. But one time, I sold a Mustang to a guy in the US, and my buddy was driving me back into Canada in his Stang. It was Saturday, two unshaved 20-something short fat white guys in a clapped out Mustang 5.0... In we go to secondary inspection. When they found my old license plates that I was bringing home... they stopped just short of the full cavity search.

The American side can be pretty harsh on a Canadian. I've had my lunch confiscated on several occaisions. You know, those dangerous Chilean apples, or pepperoni of mass destruction (Canadian beef eh). Shortly after 9/11, a marine drew his gun on me when they were searching the car and found my car battery in the trunk of my trackday car.
