Roger, you and wiggus are welcome to use my gps anytime you want. It's only a small handheld unit but it gets the job done.

I don't think I'll be able to test the black moshannon to emporium route until after labor day, but I will def do it.

Wiggus, when did you put the TKC's on? You like?

Rockinrog, our destination for day 5 is any place we can camp the night before heading south into the Trans WV trail. I am pretty sure Trans WV trail connects into the Michaux area.

I don't know Michaux, but I do know there is a ton or nice stone roads someone can route into that days ride.

One option is to route from Greenwood furnace to a campground near Michaux (pine grove state park?), let the riders unload then turn them out on a loop around michaux without the gear to finish the day.

I'd be willing to ride the day 3 route sometime in the next week (possibly Sunday, 8/22), but where exactly does it start? I was under the impression that day 2 ended/day 3 started at the Quiet Oaks campground in Cross Fork, but others have said Emporium to Black Mo. Maybe I missed something...

It does start at Quiet Oaks. Towpro rode from there to Emporium, but had to abandon the rest of the ride due to weather. So, the leg from Emporium to Black Mo hasn't been ridden yet.

Can someone point me to the gps files for this ride? I've done a lot of dual sporting in pa and perhaps I could help. Here are a couple of my favorite rides - almost all dirt roads passable with large displacement adventure bikes. Most of my experience is in the northern part of the state from Wellsboro to Warren. There is some great stuff over by Bradford and the Allegheny National Forest.

Ps

PS - I just posted some of my pics from the PA Grand Canyon riding and surrounding areas. Perhaps you can get some ideas of places you'd like to include in your trail.

I believe they are in this post in Towpro's old thread.

Towpro: can you get a link up in the first post of this thread?

XRochester: Beautiful photography! You had me drooling for a ride in that area. I love Wellsboro. I missed the Rally racing up there in June.

that's great Rockenrog. But from Greenwood south will be designated Day 5.

Also, I posted the link to the files at the bottom of the first post in this thread.

ok made the changes. I was just winging it. There are a couple dirt roads south close to where I hit 274 but I wasn't happy with the way I came down horse valley road is a nice road but all paved. So I found some dirt roads on the way back.

Nice Rog! I was putting together a tentative Day 5 map, just winging it by looking at Google maps, and you hit much of what I was guessing at. I have a few questions for you.

I missed State Game Lands 215; I just mapped 850 over to Little Valley. Is Turkey Hill road dirt?

When heading south on Little Valley: Looks like you can either go left or right on Kansas Valley or Loop Rd and get to the same place. Have you been both ways? Loop Rd looks interesting the way it runs along the rim of the valley.

You mentioned Horse Valley being paved. I had mapped a loop down Horse Valley, then back north on Concord Rd which runs right along a small ridge to Germantown Rd, where you went over. Have you ever been on Concord?

Here's the start of my Day 5 map over to Michaux. It's only 114 miles.
