Song Mtn.

Took a ride south on super-slab (481 to 81s) to test out my new seat this morning. Their is still some snow at Song Mtn., people skiing too!

seat report in a month or so, need some serious miles before I can fairly comment on this seat.

Laugh Seat Concepts seat?

I got their kit for my KLS250SF. It uses my old pan and a staple gun. Its comfy as can be. Top is grippy sides are not. MUCH wider than the stock unit.

With the old seat an hours ride was about it. I rode for an hour or so today. It was uneventful.

Because the seat is wider than the pan, I can rock back and forth a little.

I got a few wrinkles towards the front, yours looks better.

David

Mine had 3 wrinkles from being in a box that was a little bit small for it. I parked my bike out in the sun yesterday and the last little wrinkle went away glad about that! It looks pretty good on my bike I think, I might keep it.

oh, yes it is a seatconcepts seat

Good news/bad news

The bad news is I spent the whole day doing yard work and didn't get to ride at all this weekend.

The good news is I spent the whole day doing yard work and now that shit is all done and I'm no longer the lazy guy on the street with the crappy lawn!

Thumb First ride of the season

I got my seat today and I got out on the road, and trail!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seat is still not exactly what I am looking for , I might be going the way of Thinker and David R.

I was going to take a quick little ride at about 6:15pm tonight and ran down to Sylvan Beach to gas up. 3 guys on a 125, 250, and 350 saw me and came over to ask me if I wanted to hit a trail down the street. So, here I am, first ride of the season, all my luggage on the bike (yup 50 extra pounds at least) and my Metzlers. What do you think I said, HELL YES!!.

So we ran down Rt. 49 and we hit this great state trail that runs parallel to Route 49. I never knew it was there, some old RR bed. Nice trail, a little choppy, specially when you forget to crank up your preset (bottomed out a couple times, and thank god for my new skid plate) But with the cases off, and the preset and rebound set up correctly this will be a great ride. This goes from Sylvan Beach all the way out to Fulton.

I love finding new trails! What a great first ride of the season

By the way

By the way, I have been reading that a lot of F800GS riders have found that the front shocks are not up to the task of this machine. Tonight was the second time I found that I agree with them. As I get more confident with this bike I am starting to find that the front shocks are a week link. Thinker, if you do a mod on the front shocks let me know. I think I might be going with the Hyperpro spring and oil modification soon. I have a feeling the more confidence I get riding this the more I am going to want better front shocks.

I think it would also help if I could muster up enough confidence to bring the front wheel off the ground a little to smooth out some of those ruts. Any one want to teach me how to get the front end up on this monster!

Any of you interested in riding to the Mud Parade June 4th? Sounds like a fun ride, probably make a weekend of it.

And do a ride something like this:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,0.883026&z=10

we can eat at george henrys in warrensburg probably just after lunch by the time we get there

we can easily do more riding once we get to Interstate 87 off rt 8 but it depends how many people end up going

this ride has no dirt in it to make it a anyone bike/rider friendly ride but should be exciting since most of the rds have a nice selection of turns in it
