Thanks again for letting me tag along, your help and words of encouragement!

Thought I'd be able to curl up and rest my poor muscles, but turns out I am heading for Rhode Island tonight, lol...

Maybe some of you guys should trailer down my way...

Liz, your welcome anytime. Have a great ride to RI!

Dave, we will put something together soon. Came across several gated roads today and a guy on an ATV that told us we couldnt ride our bikes on a legal road. Lots of nice scenery though and some pretty nice (wet and rough) seasonals. Thanks for the south tour Tom.

Thanks for the north tour, Kevin! (I think it's better than the south now, what with all the gates)

And thanks to everyone who helped me fix that flat tire. I owe you all big time.

I only missed you guys by about 45 minutes. I screwed around for a little while in case Ken came straggling in (cause he's always late), but...no dice.

So I went home and sulked.

OK...no I didn't.

He also told us that in 2016 our bikes are going to be outlawed! He had a source.

LOL! Dang...now I'm really wishing I was there!

Deals Gap sucked...blue skies, clean, grippy pavement, a dual sport ride to the top of a mountain, 6 days of paradise...you don't want to hear it.

Passing the Word Around

I'm cross-posting to threads about a DS route I'm trying to put together. Any folks from west of Franklin County, NY, interested in jumping into the shakedown of my northern ADK loop route, drop me a PM. It will be on 6/1. We'll be up the hill from Malone, NY for lunch around noontime.

Kevin and Tom - got my tail light gremlin figured out. Guess bumping over all the rocks were too much for the wiring, I flipped up the rear fender and the harness fell apart, lol.

That's good to hear, Liz. Did you end up riding to Rhode Island with Ken?

Honestly, I was wondering how you would do on that trip. Even if you popped another bulb in and everything seemed to be working okay, it had to be unnerving everytime you saw someone coming up on you while stopped.

"Please be working, tail light! Please please please be working!"

Yup, we headed out to RI about 5:30 Sat. Sam was behind me, so people not noticing wasn't an issue. My brake light worked, was just the running light that didn't. We stopped in Albany and got little red leds for bicycles so I'd have something in the dark.

We got to a hotel in Mass around midnight, on the road at 7am, saw the vehicles, headed back to Rome around 11am, and was to Sam's by 5. 700 mile weekend for me and Ken. I was a whipped puppy!

The Mass Pike was the worst. Nice to know the drivers haven't changed since the last time I was there.

Was my first real trip, between going out with you guys and the road trip, I can def feel the diff in my confidence, comfort level and skills!

Sounds like a great weekend Liz! Thats what I love about the KLR. You can flog the hell out of it on the seasonals for half a day then ride it across three states the next half.

It's been a while (been busy) and I was finally able to pull my bike out and get it ready for the season. Are there any rides planned for Sunday or Monday?
