Hey Droozy,

If you want to put the sumo tires back on and ride the roads some Sunday, let me know. My XT is in a bad way so I've been stuck on the streetbike this summer. You can't imagine how limiting it is after riding the dualsport for years.

XT, what are you riding these days? I'm always game for any ride, paved or dirt.

Conibear I'm coming from the north so I'll meet you guys at Chucks.

I coaxed my Gpz Turbo out of hibernation and I've been riding that. Not much though, it doesn't seem as comfortable as it did when I was when I was 25.

As you can see, it's ill-suited to the type of riding you'll be doing tomorrow. But keep me in mind if you guys set up a pavement only ride.

Thanks Chuckracer. I've owned it since new; bought it when I was 19 yrs old. It only has 8200 miles on it.

You should take it for a spin if I ever get a chance to ride with you again (I chased you around the Adirondacks one day a few years back on a an XT550. To bastardize a Forest Gump quote- you can ride like the wind does blow!). With 18" tires front and back, it doesn't handle near as well as a modern sportbike. But it's a friggin' rush when the boost guage shoots up and she takes off like a rocket. Very unique experience.

Great Ride today

Thanks Conibear, Chuck, Koyote!

Some great riding today, sorry I had to take off before the last dirt for the day, my knee was shot, old skiing injury, should have put on a brace.

I got home and grabbed a beer and sat on the couch for an hour, realizing how sore the rest of me was too! You guys really made me work, gawd I need more practice, and I need to get in shape!

Super ride, can't wait to do it again!

Great ride guys! I totalled out with 230 very dusty miles. I learned a few things today, Conibear has mad riding skills and gets an A+ for his guiding and point riding, and that an F800 and 950 Adventure make for bad ass dual sports.

Ken I have to fill you in on what happened after we parted ways. Bill decided to see what we were made of and took us on a nasty, rocky, muddy trail that had several large holes filled with black smelly water covered in green slime. I took full advantage and filled one of my boots with said liquid to enjoy later when I returned home and took them off.
We then rode a long narly road/trail which ended up at a locked gate. After some discussion and contemplation we made it through using an Atv bypass that was steep, rutted with an off camber turn. After getting to the other side we hung out for a few minutes discussing our next move when a young man on a DRZ pulled up to the gate from the side we just came from. We told him it was locked and that he would have to take the rather unpleasant bypass as we did. He then stated, " you guys should have waited longer" and he pulled out a key and unlocked the gate. Timing is everything I guess. We then rode for awhile and Bill was going to get us back to pavement to start the trek home when we again arrived at more of these large black water filled holes. Chuck and I then informed Bill of our tired and "yes I'm a pussy" status and he was good enough to turn us around for dryer return trip.

Can't wait for the next ride!
