A little offroading in the French Alps

A friend and I took our CRF's to the French Alps for a week. We know the area very well from numerous downhill mountain biking and snowboarding trips. We are very lucky in that we have friends with a place out there ( www.winterandsummer.com )

Here are a few pics.

Day 1, a few fairly easy wide forest service roads.

Snow stopped us getting over the border into Switzerland, but we found some nice trails on the way back.

Nobody could really tell me what was or wasn't definitely allowed. From our experience the wide forest/piste access roads are fine (we passed many workers etc and nobody said a word) but the narrow walkers trails are strictly a no go. We went in between summer and winter season, so once you get out of the valleys there is nobody around anyway.

We found some narrower more technical trails when we ventured further away from villages etc.
