Aprilia in Dakar question?

Why are Aprilia in the Dakar race?

Arent their 450 RXV a twincylinder bike? I thought only one cylinder bikes were allowed to compete? Or am I wrong?

I do however think the Aprilia Dakar racing bike looks cool, and its nice to see another brand make it to the top.

Thanks for any answers. And to those of you who think I should have used the searchengine on this forum.... I did and found nothing.

The twin limit was only for bikes over a certain CC limit. At 450 they are good to go and have an incredible machine!

They're probably only there until they win.

Then the bigger factories will complain to ASO who will outlaw all twins a few weeks before the start of the next Dakar...
