Marta, really enjoying reading your trip report and amazing photos last time i was in Norway was 20 years ago and remember it being very expensive back then, i use to go jogging through Kristansend people are friendly enough though

Apologies for having been silent such a long time, but there has been an awful combination of lack of time and lack of wireless... (when I had wireless, I was so tired that I only wanted to sleep, and when I was fit for internet, then I had no wireless!!!). Sorryyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!
Very good news: yesterday I reached Knivskjelodden!!! The most northern point of Mageroya Island!!! Also did a bird safari in the Nature Reserve of Gjesvaersappan and saw sea eagles!!!
I'm sooooooooooooooo happy!!!
Today I'm sleeping in Kautokeino. Norwegian Lappland.
Awful! Millions of mosquitos trying to bite me (first day in Norway I suffer from these beasts, tomorrow early in the morning I'll be heading to the coast again trying to avoid them!).
Apparently the camping where I am has a great wireless connection, but the room where I am has almost no signal. Keeps cracking but I'm not going to go out to the next building to get a better signal - I can die because of the mosquitos!
I'll try to post a summary of the route I've done so far later on, but can't promise!

We are based in Basel (North of Switzerland) and we have decided to spend our 2,5 weeks of holidays visiting Norway.

Our main goals for this trip are enjoying the Norwegian landscapes, seeing Musk oxes and trying to spot some White-tailed Eagles... Reaching Knivskjelloden (the real North Cape) would be a plus, but it's not a priority for us. :)

Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to Lörrach (Germany) where I'm loading Heidi into a train that will bring us to Hamburg.

This is the first time I'm travelling by train with a motorbike. I wanted to make the most of this 2,5 weeks and, since the train is travelling during the night, it's a great way of getting extra time in Norway! And... I will skip 900Km of boring German motorway!

If everything happens as scheduled, Saturday morning I'll be in Hamburg and, from there, I'll be heading to Hirtshals (Northern coast of Denmark), where I want to take the late afternoon ferry to Kristiansand (Southern coast of Norway). Let's see how everything goes...

Well done! Let me know if you're travelling through Bergen on the way home, you deserve a beer or two for reaching Knivskjellodden. You can take the ferry to Hirtshals from here and there's plenty of nice roads to ride and stuff to see. Hope the weather was good up north, will be cool to see more pics!

Quick summary from today:
Kautokeino - Tysfjord (580Km)
Windy ride through Finland (not as windy as yesterday, though!).
A bit of involuntary off road in Sweden (road works that made me sweat!).
Rainy afternoon in Norway.
After taking the ferry from Skarberget to Bognes, I've ended up in a motel room in Tysford. Have great views to the fiord. This area is extremely beautiful, love it! Glad I came here!
I've had a big Lofoten salmon portion for dinner (got it in the ICA supermarket next to the motel). Deliciousss!
Good news: no more mosquitoes!
Good news 2: Heidi and I are no longer alone! Elg joined us today and we make a great team!

Going there it's OK, but the way back is hard! (mostly up the hill...)
(just FYI: I booked the ferry from Kristiansand to Hirtshals a while ago, so I'll be leaving from there)

I'm short of holidays and have to go back to Switzerland the fastest way as possible (Germany by train during the night).

Mmmm... Polish people are nice!
I met a Polish couple in Skarsvag (just below Nordkapp). We were in the same 'motellet' and they took very good care of me (offering teas, coffees, and substantial doses of delicious liquors from the Czech Rep.).
