Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

Today I got a chance to ride with the boys from the DC forum over at SBN http://www.sportbikes.net/

We met at the Sheetz on 15 and 55 at 8:30. I'm there with my K1200RS with saddle bags and everybody else shows up with everything from SV650's to R1's and every kind of sport bike in between. About 10 of us showed up. Great bunch of guys. Some young, some older and even some my age and older.

We went out 55 to 17 and then took a right onto the fun stuff. Here the pace really picked up and I was hanging. I was about 4th from the front and the fast guys were setting a healthy pace. We wiggled all the way down towards Culpepper and then ambled West across 211 to Sperryville.

My MEZ4's are shot so after we crossed into Fort Valley and they headed across Tasker's Gap to Edinburgh, I bailed and went straight up Fort Valley to the house. The KRS is done until I get new tires.

I was kind of dissapointed that no one was pulling 90 MPH wheelies. Just kidding. The ride was actually very good and the pace was most excellent. They were a great bunch to ride with, but the pace is spirited for sure. I was able to hang with the K, and was pleased to see it perform so well against such more "preformance" oriented sport bikes. It is truly the "flying brick".

Any way, just a great ride with a great bunch of riders that enjoy the edge!

To Be Honest Freak

They rode no harder or faster than we do. I was right there with them except on 211 when they started dragging knees in the corner.

These guys wern't squids, they were sport bike riders that have the ability to ride and have been riding for years. Very safe, controlled ride, but the pace was as fast as you were willing to go.

Planned route, people waited at the turns when they got seperated. It was anything but squidly.

all statistics show that the first get-off occurs in the third year of riding. you are getting close to that. and the increased risk factor of riding with the Power Rangers

maybe I should say 10 months
