Greg,
I've used the doubletake mirrors for a couple season on my thumpers and love them. Every now and then, someone mentions the mirrors can move at high speeds, but most don't have the issue. Some have wrapped a piece of tape around the mirror ball (which is hard poly and not rubber like the RAM balls) and they hold better. I've not had to do that but only ride up to 85mph on the bikes on which I have these installed so can't speak to high speed riding or how windshield buffeting might impact them.

Vibration is no more than stock mirrors and they do fold inboard, or anywhere else you want. On my trail bikes, I never fold them in. If you loosen them just a bit, they will move if you drop or crash the bike, then crank them tight again before hitting the high speed tarmac.

I use the aluminum RAM arms (don't use the poly arms) and the 3" arms rather than the 2" because they get the mirrors out further to easily see around ones arms and shoulders. Highly recommended. I'll be using them on my Super Tenere when it arrives.

P.S. Sorry about that branch. I have a chin scar in the same spot from getting taken off my feet by a 2" thick nasty vine across the chin when on a full run through the woods back about 18 years ago. Took me right off my feet and knocked the wind out of me when I landed. And though the saying goes "chicks dig scars", to this day I've never had a young chicken look at me longingly.

Thumb Super Tenere's CAN do single trail

Some footage of today.
A really nice short single trail section on one of our favourite rides.
Sorry in advance as its a piss poor attempt but I have no idea what I am doing with this video editing stuff.
I will be gathering a lot of video in future so I will keep working on it until it is perfected.

Greg.

Edit - Just uploaded different file.. Seems you can watch it in 1080p HD
Boring jeep trail till 40 seconds.. Expected to see the opening to the single trail earlier, hence the indicator..

Nice footage Greg

He can now hold a conversation with himself, and smoke at the same time. New party trick is to blow smoke out of his second mouth

Nice vid. Really like that youtube supports HD nowadays. Takes a bit longer to download/buffer with a medium speed broadband connection, but worth it as the picture is so much better.

Another Vid

Been working on my edit/export parameter shills.
I think I may be getting there with the save as at least - Just need to learn how to do the fancy transitions and add some audio.

Watch in 1080pHD or 720pHD.

Filmed with VioPovHD with microphone behind me.
Need to change to Full view exposure rather than Spot exposure.
This is with baffle out.

Gimme some feedback.

File description on YouTube:
A short slow ride on the WaspWorks XT1200Z Super Tenere up our local water pipeline.
Gives folks a chance to hear the sound of the MotorradWorks carbon muffler system with the baffle out.

This was recorded with a new VioPovHD with the microphone on my back.
You can hear it at W.O.T a few times but cant get up too much speed or make a lot of noise as, apart from the randomly placed gotcha rocks, it is also a well used walking trail leading into the local township.

Really just an upload test as I work on my editing/exporting parameters.
Should be able to view in 1080p HD.

(Yes I know - Speedo is disconnected with ABS and TCS off... Must work on that)

Greg.

LOL didn't see the black text there. Is that a bug with the bike or something that you did when you set up an on/off switch for them.

Its the way the ABS/TCS off switch is wired. All works fine when switched to normal function..
As I said, must get around to finding a fix one day - Too busy riding for now.

Greg.

Bent the shift lever on the weekend.
Straightened back out no worries and we were back on the trail quick as a flash.

It's the massive torque from the bike.
He is standing still, it's the Earth that is rotating underneath him.

Were going MAD with video's...

Here's another one from the weekend.
Again it's nearly all of the back end of my bike as I have the GPS and the trail knowledge and the mate (Alvie) had the helmet cam facing forward. I had my Vio PovHD cam facing backward but pointing up too high and set to spot exposure so the ground was dark and the sky was set right.. Dumb I know but we live and learn.

Enjoy..

Greg.
