Greg,

Do you know if info@motoraddgarage.com.au is still the correct e-mail? I can't seem to get a response for a pre-purchase stock update.

Thanks for the help.

OTR Racing headpipe XT1200 Z

Hi Greg ... what do you think of this headpipe http://www.off-the-road.de/News/OTR-...-XT1200-Z.html ... I couldn't get an answer from Arrow ... wish a ceramic coating but it seems very difficult to obtain.
Cheers,
Roberto aka Thagua

Thanks Greg. Allthough I had the address right I just brain cramped with the spelling here. I have tried it again so will see what happens.

P.M sent.

Not sure of the specs of this one Rob. Nice looking system though.
It looks slightly bigger in diameter than the Arrow which is a MAJOR downfall of that system.

Greg.

is there a demand for a stronger/lighter 21'' wheel???

hi ,,,have been getting requests for a 21''...

what's your take on that notion???

something like what i built for your mate Pilbara...

http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....65&postcount=1

would someone weigh these wheel assemblies for the data base,,,ie complete front wheel with discs mounted,,,minus tire

i'm thinking 5Kg +/- complete wheel with double disc Galfer wavy/floating rotors
holler

Would the 21"have an effect on the Traction control as going from the stock 19 - 17 combo would it think the rear was spinning as the front would not be turning as fast?? Just a question??

I was told that no one here in Aust can tru a buckled bent S10 wheel and the assembly is replaced if they are not true??? sounds like BS to me

Cheers Rick

Hard to say. There has to be some provision for differing wheel speeds as tires wear and to cover different tire types/brands, but whether this would be sufficient to cover this major a change, I don't know. Most of these systems have some kind of calibration going on when you first ride off and from this point, they're using relative wheel speeds, not absolute wheel speeds.

It may be possible to design a traction control system that doesn't use the front wheel speed, by just looking at rates of change in rear wheel speed, possibly with engine speed and gear data too.

I think this is one that you'd have to try it to really know or at least get someone involved who knew the intimate details of the Yamaha system.

I can tell you that on the 2009 BMW F650GS (my wife's bike before she sold it) it DID cause the ABS to shutdown when I changed the rear tire from 140/80/17 to 150/60/17 which is over 1/2" smaller diameter. It worked at first, but as soon as she got like 500 miles and started some wear, the ABS started to disengage till finally it would not stay engaged. After changing back to the stock tire, all was normal again with the ABS.

No idea how the Yamaha Super T will handle it with either ABS or TC.

I find that hard to believe that no one can true an S10 wheel, I made some enquiries a while ago at my dealer and you can only buy individual parts of the wheel, not complete so anyone that can lace and true spoke wheels should be able to do that. When I enquired about the cost of new wheels it was expensive, more than a set of cast Marchesini's for a Ducati. Hopefully Yamaha have come to there senses. I would be heading to a motocross shop, they should be able to point you in the right direction mate.

I would love a 21inch front on my S10, but if the ABS can't be sorted, that aint gunna happen. That ABS, for the way I ride anyway is just unbelievable, just pull the lever to the bars, and it stops, slippery shit, ball bearing gravel, what ever you throw at it, it works a treat. It saved me from adding to my dead tree list on more than a couple of occasions. Top riders like Wasp can handle the big girl and I've seen some of his entry lines(bad) into corners where having the ABS off has no doubt saved his ass, he's blown a few good riders away where he has taken that bike of his, and at the pace he rides, he knows his stuff. But I have mentioned before, the aids on the S10 work better than most, which is allowing me, at my level of skill, enjoy my bike.

Sorry about waffling on, but I love my bike

Talking Black WaspWorks decals on the Silver Super Tenere!!!

My Sith Ifrican friend Bundu finally got around to installing his decal kit yesterday and excitedly sent me photo's of the results.
Black looks mag-bloody-nificent on the Silver bike

Bundu's exact comment by email was:
"done! wasn't as much of a hassle as I had expected - see attached pre-lim pics.
I think the RED Super Tenere stickers will have to go!

Will confirm with my lady this eve, but would you agree?"

Not sure about the red stickers - The jury is out on that one...
The Silver is definitely a nice looking color on this bike, especially with the added stickers and the way they contract with (yet enhance) the other black components.

Bundu's pics.

Still waiting on pics of the decals on the black bike but will post them up as soon as they are done.

Greg.
