I'm seriously thinking about holding a bike rally next year around winter time for home constructed bikes. Around the winter solstice. Gunna call it 'Burning Bike'
Bring 'em all. All the oddities and strangeness. Hopefully in the Sunshine Coast area near some great trails. If it's got two wheels and or a sidecar, lets see it, especially if it's been modified in a shed.
Raise money for Men's mental health.
Hoping to have a bonfire 'the likes of GOD has not seen' and burn a sacrificial bike or two.

What say ye all?? All input please??

Think Burning man but with an Aussie design.

sounds like a bloody good idea as long as you don't burn my bike.

if you set a date I'm sure a few of us would actually pull our fingers out and get the bikes finished in time

Just browsing Motorcycle disposals (no connection blah blah blah) and found this peach
http://www.motorcycledisposals.com.a...hyr%20550.html

I reckon that could be "adjusted" quite cheaply and make a nice ride. Twin back shocks make a rear lift too easy, and i cruise through your local wrecker should turn up a dirt bike front end that will fit the standard yokes.

Not bad...for a bit less than $3k it could be a good machine

Pity I've got no shed room

pity it's in Townsville...otherwise the impulse to buy would have been greater than no shed space

Hey mate!

Sorry to display my ignorance and to be honest I've been avoiding ya out of sheer embarrassment not having made this years SC, but when is SC 2011? Easter again? Because if I don't make this one I'm gunna hafta call myself Shirley and buy a skirt. It'll be ugly........ Linky??

STILL have the XL500, It's STILL in bits (am contemplating diesel power) but it looks like the ATO is coming to the party....

Then AFTER SC 2011 we'll have Burning Bike 2011!! Maybe I should cart some old shitbox out to the 'corner and we can have a test run?? :-) Remembering the pics of tREV's place he may have a likely candidate or 15!!!

Yes that is Easter, later next year.

Yes, my thoughts are CAN I HAVE A GO MISTER!!! PLEASE MISTER PLEASE MISTER!!!!!!!

How AWESOME that would be. I'm thinking the swingarm pivot area (from memory there is no frame or summat there??? Engine stressed member?) would need reinforcing. Also, a bloke I road raced with had a wicked quick vtr but when you breathed on the motor any the cranks let go. Leave motor stock with new exhaust and power commander?? I think he had an easy 100 horses on the dyno any way.

Hey OldDog, have you sold the Duke yet?? Care to offer a long term easy repayment plan?? That and a G3 matchless in the shed with one VMX husky and I'd be DONE!!

She wants her own ride!

After breaking her duck on the back of the XJR, while riding around a drenched southern china dodging suicidal bicycle riders turned carmakazis, my girl wants her own ride.

Ok, so she doesn't have a license, never driven anything on 2 or 4 wheels, but is keen to learn. Oh and she wants to BUILD IT herself, learn every part and know what each does. Very hands on this girl and not afraid to get dirty

It would need to be ds possible, say 60/40 road dirt, as she's at Uni and wants to ride into the boonies when she's on hols.

So looking at a few possibles:
CX650....don't laugh!
XZ550....I know
Guzzi 350
Guzzi 500
Any other models?
