Skid Plates are a good thing--like rain!

Everywhere you look......

My son lives in NM, down in Las Cruces. He's been bugging me to bring out a couple bikes so we can ride together there. I'd be very interested to do that ride and maybe a couple others in that area if you have some to suggest.

If I were to repeat that ride, where exactly would I start from and then continue on? Can you give me directions or GPS positions? I'm good with either.

Another area near him is Cloudcroft, maybe there are some good rides there also.

This one went out of Cochiti Pueblo which you can find between Albq and Santa Fe--a good long ways from LC. As you mentioned good riding in Cloudcroft--much closer to your son. I'm doing a ride down there at the end of the month and will post pics--when you see it PM me and I will send you a track. Also good riding around TorC which is also close to your son--here is an example--

Ya, I looked up Cochiti Pueblo on Googlemaps so I had an idea of where it was. I was figuring about 4 - 4.5 hrs drive to get up there. I'm used to doing ~6hr drives to ride "the nice stuff" here in California. But if there's some good riding closer then why not?

I checked out your pix from the link, looks interesting. Not too much up in the Pines but pretty good otherwise.

I've done a ton of riding all over California and now I'm looking to ride some other states.

I'm looking forward to reading about your ride down in the LC area.

because I bought an old honda some years back (1st bike, Cx500) and even though I'm only 6 houses from the corner I thought it was the greatest thing ever and i had only got as far as 3 houses from the corner before that went through my mind. all the scenery and traveling I've done since are just a bonus. Great pictures, makes me want to visit a friend of mine in AZ so I can see the southwest again.
