I never got around to finishing my dash. I wanted to have the warning lights and use my sigma speedo. Tonight I tried some ideas and came up with this using four different color LEDs and a fabricated mount for the speedo attached to the back of the triple clamp:

So the next chapter opens in my never-ending project.
So with lots of help from Houseoffubar (Eric), I have my welded monoshock and bracket. It goes with out saying that his work is top-notch. These parts and a 2009 Yamaha R1 rear shock will go on my R100. Now it's a matter of making time to get it together. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hey man, Sweet swing arm
I was just looking at your LED idiot lights, did you find 12v units, or did you have to wire resistors, and such?

I found ones with resistors wired in. I'll have to dig around to come up with where I bout them.

I'm finally satisfied with the way the R1 shock is working. Went out for a ride this afternoon and I'm very happy with the way the bike is handling. It was a bit of an adventure welding the upper shock mount to the frame but I think it's a solid weld and is not going any where. I do need to play around with the compression and rebound settings on the rear shock.
The battery is a small lightweight 12 cell (a123 cell) mounted under the seat in the stock tool box. I need to re-design the oil catch tank and will eventually end up replacing the rear subframe. I still have some other things planned, but I'm in no rush. A big shout out to Houseoffubar for helping with the swingarm and shock mount. His welding skills are awesome.

Yes, that's what it is. The previous owner had Corbin make it for him. I've never seen another like it either.

Sorry for the bump, but if you are reading this, do you have any pictures of your front axle and how you fit it?
Thanks. |
