It's been a real "old fashioned winter" here in the North East with way too much of

This

And This

And although it sometimes does have

Its Beauty

I am finally beginning to plan my 2011 routes, in the meantime here are a few from last falls color tours

I finally got around to uploading some of my memory cards and am making it my mission to finish by next weekend

So here are a few to start from the Adirondacks

Yeah, tell me about it. Here I was, happily riding the sled and all of the sudden, it all melted... and then in under 8 hours, we got 36 freakin' inches of fluffy crap that was pretty much unridable on the sled.

I'm ready for spring. Sled's going to the back of the garage and the bike is coming out (we lost that 36 inches in under a week).

Freaky weather.

fantastic report...

Great photography!

I am planning a trip to the Daks. You have giving me more ideas of areas that I think I need to explore. I don't think a couple of days will cover it all.

I only wish I could do my day trips justice like you can yours!

Keep writing and riding!!!!

PrtclMn001 . 36 inches in one shot- ouch. Gotta be all that lake effect out there I would assume. Glad to hear it didn't stay long

Heffa i really believe you could spend years in the Adirondacks and still not uncover all the beaty it offers, pm me if you need some routes or suggestions on what to see

Columbus Day 2011

Columbus day weekend blessed us with beautiful sunny weather along with some extremely gusty winds sonaturally i spent 2 days on the bike

Saturday I had an anniversary party to attend so my route was shortened out of necessity. plan for the day was to knock off some back roads and then go to Lake Georce and go up Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway.

Having lived in this area for most of my life this would be my first time driving up this rather than hiking it

First up the river road , one stop to watch the fisherman and appreciste the stark beauty it has at this time of year

Then Prospect mountain and the access road

And if you walked to the other side of my bike and peered over you see the Village of Lake George below

And that in a nutshell is Prospect Mountain, worth a visit if you are in Lake George

Nice!! Gets me all reminiscent of my youth. Spent many summer weekends on that lake. Dad had a boat and slip out of Harris Bay for many years.

Thanks for the consistent quality pics

I am gonna say those two islands off to the upper left are Diamond island and Long island? It's been many years since I have seen them. We use to camp on Long island once or twice a year. Saw boat every now and then marooned on the rocks to the east of Diamond island Good times.

I can hear the Mini Ha Ha tooting and the cannons being fired from Ft. William Henry in that photo. Great memories, thank you.

Never took a ride on the Mini. Have taken a ride on both the Mohican and the Lac Du Saint Sacrement though.
