Hannda - it's still for sale, i wonder how many hot dogs and burgers you would need to sell to justify the price

You, not having inherted the land - or not having puchased the land when it was $10,000, would probably have to open before Memorial Day and stay open long beyond Labor Day. You'd probably even have to open a second location on Rte 9. They do make a good hotdog though.

Thanks for the pic. I can taste them as I type this.

Edit: I don't think I've ever been there in the daylight.

Memorial Day Weekend

The rain finally let up for a bit and Memorial Day Weekend turned out pretty decently weather wise.

I just wanted to ride, so with no firm destination in mind I just went.

10 minutes out and I banked some Karma points

2 seconds later he repaid me by peeing all over my boots, first time this ever happened and I was amazed at the sheer volume he produced.
Note to self - always hold turtles away from your body

This was just a baby maybe 6 or 7 inches long warming itself up on the shoulder

Amen

Rte 73 is one of my favorites, great scenery, a ton of pulloffs for hiking, fishing and rock climbing, fantastic scenery and nice twisties

Long Lake under grey skies

Near Lake Placid

Good advice but check your spelling and grammar

I always stop and put turtles across the road.(even snappers) Make sure you put them on the side they are headed for or they'll just try it again. Good karma indeed.

As much as I love riding in the 'Dacks, I just wasn't into Americade this year. It just felt too crowded and annoying down in the Village so I bailed on it, and did a rambling 4 day tour home, thru Vermont, New Hampshire, Mass. and CT. I will definitely go back up after the summer crowds take off and spend some time riding those great roads, but I really had a fun time just wandering around New England. The best part was not returning to the same spot every night, and honestly not having any real plan about where I was going to, or when I was going to stop each day turned out great! I don't think I'll be back to another Americade, I'm just burnt out on the rally thing.

There's now a competing "rally" in Warrensburg they hold at the same time as Americade. Personally, were I there, I'd rather take the ride through New England that you took and head up to the Village after the rally folks are all gone. I mean, if you can't get in to Capri Pizza because of the crowds . . . . why go?

But if you're already in Warrensburg, have some fun at Oscar's Smokehouse. Fantastic meats and cheeses.

Please post them up in a new thread under Day Trippin'. They don't have to be as well composed as Prometheus' to still give a lot of pleasure to the viewers.

I Had a slice in Capri's on Monday night! I have to admit, it was pretty good! I'll try to learn how to post pictures and share mine. Nothing like this guys though, I think my man is a pro! My Ex Wife's Mother lived out in Bailey Co. and then moved up to South Park County, Man you've got some beautiful country out there!
