The winter has left many areas of poor surfaces and there is still a bit of sand in places. Be careful and ride safe!

I have a route that heads up to lake placid via route 73 then up to Lake champlain to head south down the island route 2 and then continuing south back to Lake George for about 300 miles. Am I missing out on the best roads though?

We are coming from up north in Canada and will hit 8 and 28 on the way there and back.
PM me your route and I'll let you know

If I might suggest...

A slightly different approach route from Lake George to Odessa Ontario.
The 1000 Islands Bridge crossing is very busy.
The Ogdensburg-Johnstown crossing is much quicker/easier and still picturesque.

Hwy 2 along the north shore of the St Lawrence is nice, also the 1000 Islands Parkway.
I added a detour if you wish to avoid the stop and go traffic of Kingston.

River Road Lake Placid

Last weekend I bummed around the Lake Placid / Wilmington area.

River Road runs from Lake Placid to Route 86, running along the Ausable River.

App. 9.5 miles in length it's a great ride with appetizing twisties and great scenery

And if you like to trout fish you'll have plenty of company

Here's 2 and 1/2 minutes headed from Lake Placid to 86

And here's 28 seconds of riding in a hail storm on the way back

Continuing from my last post, it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood as I headed North

Route 9n North of Keene NY

The Covered Bridge in Jay NY

Looking out to the North

Looking south

And getting stopped by the border patrol on the way home

love these photos

I love these photos. I am planning to drive through the Adirondacks next weekend (coming from Montreal, Canada). In your opinion, which are the best twisty motorcycle roads? Nice lakes are also appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
