Nice! My wife and I were in Laramie and the surrounding area for the last two days... never made it to the Snowy's but we did get out on our mountainbikes to the Curt Gowdy State Park area towards Cheyenne. I saw a handful of ADV looking riders in Laramie :)

Most people dont even know it's there.....

We enjoy this ride a lot. There are several routes to take; from Ft Colllins take Hwy 14 over Cameron Pass to Walden, North to Riverside/Saratoga to Wyoming 130 over Snowy Range to Laramie, back to FTC via Highway 287 is a good one. If you have more time 287 to Laramie to WY130 over Snowy Range to Riverside to Baggs via hwy 70 South via hwy 13 to Craig Colorado then to Steamboat, rabbit ears pass to Kremmling into Rocky Mountain National Park to Estes Park etc..... Just depends in the time you have.......

Sweet pics and ride!
Was just up there myself a couple weeks ago. I was able to connect Hahns Peak, CO up to WY70 (just west of Encampment) via FR550, and then looped back over the Snowies. Like you said, some great riding up there that few seem to go explore!

Wow! I've been hoping to get there for many months now. Any good dirt ADV routes (once the snow's clear)?

Darn you DP, you're everywhere!
Seriously, I suspect the Snowies are one of the West's last undiscovered gems.

The Snowy Range is a great ride, we do it a couple times a year. It's aptly named too, it stays cold and refreshing up there
![]() Up the Cache la Poudre to Walden, lunch in Saratoga, and over the Snowies to Laramie and 287 back - makes for a nice 500 mile day from our place. You're right about being non-crowded, Kevin, you rarely see more than a few cars. Looks brisk up there now!

Wasn't very crowded at all for the 4th and there were some old cabin ruins, mines, lakes, etc for scenery.... and one run in with an angry grouse that rushed out at the bikes from the woods and started nipping at our boots.

WOW, thanks for the memories. I worked at a sawmill in Centennial years ago. My grandfather was born in a log cabin over near Saratoga in 1890.
cold dark winter is what I remember the most. JB |

Looks like a better place to be than this heat of Denver.
Hope the RT is treating you right
