The main tank was 4.5 gallons and the auxiliary tank was 2 gallons. My fuel range was lower on this trip. I was getting between 34 and 40 MPG. I think that big tour bag was catching a lot of wind. .

Way cool, you are "real deal". Thanks for sharing. Who made the auxiliary tank? Looks like a really good unit.

Very well made. Comes with the mounting brackets and I had them add a ground strap lug and a ball-check vent. .

The rest of the story -
During the 49 state ride (48 Plus) in 2010 there were 5 days that I rode over 1000 miles and 3 were in a row. I had the receipts to document the rides but I never took the time to submit the documentation until recently. I received a A SS1000 certification for day one, over 1100 miles. A SS1000 certification for day 4, over 1000 miles. I also received a certification for day 6, 7, and 8 the SS3000. Over 3000 miles in less than 3 days. This is concidered an extreme ride and is a first on a Victory. I also came close to documenting 5000 miles in 5 days. I did that on day 4 through 8. My data shows that I covered 5020 miles in less than 5 days. I did not plan on doing this. I bought gas at the end of day 3 so I didn't have a receipt showing the start of day 4. Because of that I lost the first 150 miles and couldn't show the start time. The time and mileage is from starting the bike in the morning and ends with finding a motel room. The numbers - GPS Miles and time. Day 1 - 1136 miles - 22 hours 44 minutes - 10 States Day 2 - 796 miles - 15 hours 32 minutes - 6 States Day 3 - 896 miles - 16 hours 41 minutes - 8 States Day 4 - 1044 miles - 17 hours 33 minutes - 6 States Day 5 - 938 miles - 16 hours 40 minutes - 5 States Day 6 - 1002 miles - 17 hours 31 minutes - 5 States Day 7 - 1007 miles - 17 hours 28 minutes - 5 States Day 8 - 1029 miles - 17 hours 58 minutes - 3 states Day 9 - 777 miles - 17 hours 15 minutes - 0 States Day 10 - 165 miles - 3 hours 37 minutes - 1 State Total time - 9 days, 17 hours and 16 minutes ![]() Speed - I used a Spot Tracker on this trip. The Spot Tracker created a map and a graph of the speed.

Hi, not sure if you remember me, but we PM'd a little bit about your trip while I was planning my 49 states/10 day trip for last year. I appreciated your input on the ride. At some point I should post the ride report I wrote.
Congrats on all the certs you scored on your trip. Looking back I wish I had thought to plan ahead and document the SS5000. We wound up riding 5254 miles in 5 days and 6215 miles by the end of day 6. But I don't have receipts within the cutoff windows on either day to show I made the distance within the correct time, even though we did. So, well done on your part! This was one of the most fun rides/experiences I've ever had. Kudos again on pulling it off on your Victory. I couldn't have completed this ride on cruiser. -Paul |

I have to admire anyone that can ride 1000 miles in 24 hours, so much more if they do it day by day. I have ridden up to 11 hours, at which point my buns are burning and screaming for me to stop.
My main questions are about equiping your bike for the ride and tires. So, how did your arse handle it? What special equipment did you use for your seat and comfort? Lastly, how did you handle tires? Great accomplishment! Dave |

I did not have to replace tires on the trip. I replaced the rear tire after I got home but the front tire lasted the rest of the year, I traded the the bike in on a new bike in October and it still had the same front tire! The seat was a Mustang.

I was lucky on the receipts. I did not know I had ridden 5000 miles in less than 5 days at the time. Wasn't planned. I wish I would have known, I would have ridden a little farther that 5th day (Day 8). It's going to be close. Speedo mileage was 5002 and the GPS mileage was 5020. I'm going to send the receipts in and just see what happens. .
