![]() I have a Rick Mayer on my Gen 1 Multi and love it. So far, the XC's stock seat is working fine but I need to do an 800 mile day and see.... I've tried an Airhawk but was never comfortable with the feel of the pad and corresponding 'movement'. |

When I bought that I had visions of making it into a British R80GS. And, whilst it could go most places any other bike could go (lovely engine), it beat me to death with its short suspension. Yes, nice looking bike.

You probably had too much air in it. It takes trial & error to get it right, but when you hit it right it works great. I find it best when my arse bones are just pushing into the seat. That stops the movement you're talking about.

Arrived :-)
The bike arrived at the dealer and soon it will be in my garage after the mounting of extra light and heat grips.
I got a long list with recommended mods from Blacktiger, thank you :-) ![]()

One of the best things to do on a HD XR1200 is to replace the shocks with longer aftermarket models. That jacks up the rearend, which nets more travel and reduces rake. I'm simply thinking aloud, here.

To beak or not to beak.
I have contemplated that age old question (well, since 2011 when I got my Tiger).
At first I thought I had to have one to complete the look of the bike. A plus was it would annoy some BMW GS owners. But that wasn't a good enough reason. If the beak did something other than cosmetic (flying mud not a problem for my Roadie). Maybe if it directed more air to the radiator or air away from me I could justify it. Hopefully this animated GIF will help others (I hope it animates!). Otherwise you will see two separate images. My opinion: The beak completes the lines or flow of the tank. But I would have to paint the front fender black so the beak wouldn't look redundant. ![]() Thanks to the person that posted a picture of his bike so I could play with it. Vzuke screwed with this post 01-27-2013 at 06:40 AM Reason: GIF stopped animating |

Agreed, in (matt) black the fender combined with the beak would look a lot better on a white roadie
![]() Though one excuse to mount the beak I noticed was that at speeds over 180 km/h the beak seems to add a little stability. |

Has anyone done their own valve adjustment (with pics) yet on the 800? Would it be similar to the Daytona once you get to the motor?
Please post up some wisdom if you have.
