Unfortunately I have a transmission problem, I lost my 3rd gear Sunday so it is going to the motorcycle spa for a little repair. I still have the Sherpa so I will still be out ridding. |

Look like fun
Looks like all had a good time. Too bad about you transmission. I guess a backup bike is a good idea.
This weekend look very promising. Rick |

So happy I found this thread. I recently purchased a KTM 625 SXC (first bike). Total noob status. I've been cruising around the neighborhoods on the weekends but I've been itching to get out and ride with some people on something mellow. I've been snowboarding, skateboarding and riding pedal bikes just about my whole life so I wouldn't be a total square to ride with. I live in Truckee and have been dying to go cruise around a bit. Anyone going out and about this weekend? I have SAT/SUN off or really whenever if it's worth it. Thanks to everyone who has spent the time sharing pics/vids/posts, this thread was fun to read.

As far a plan this weekend, I will be at estates drive at 10am on Sunday to see who shows up. I will stick by Luckyjr's rule of no leader, we are just gathering to ride. I have a buddy that lives two blocks away from that road who rides a quad, so if he shows up I'll be showing him around a bit which means I may be out of luck on riding single track. If he doesn't pan out then I hope to tag along with whoever else is out there. |

Thanks for the reply! I'll plan on being out there then. Where exactly is estates drive? (I bet there is more than one in reno).
Also this will be my first real ride/outing. Anything you recommend that is totally crucial? I have a helmet, gloves, boots but that's it at the moment.. Being the new guy i'll be sure to provide a couple of beers for after. Thanks in advance!!!!

I am in
I plan to be there on Sunday, 10:00 am:
generkal, here are the directions. 395 north to Golden Valley Road, drive east about 1 mile, left on Estates Road, drive north until it turns to dirt. Prepare for a cool start and warming temptures. I use a riding jacket and a fleece that I can remove. A back pack helps to carry it all. A Walmart special will do fine. Carry with you some drinking water and some trail bars for a snack and some basic tools. I hope someone shows that knows where they are going, because it isn't me. Rick |

I will most likely be there as well tomorrow but I will be on the Super Sherpa. Still good for single track, just a lot slower.
