Honestly never used that site but I'll check it out if I ever save a track I could upload. Thanks for the heads up.

You do not have to upload anything to download my Tracks.

Cool, thanks. I downloaded your tracks and will add some of them in to my route to avoid some of the 395.

Looking for some small-bike fun this Sunday, any takers? Please don't make me resort to doing preventative maintenance on the bike and cars all day. Hit me up.

Hope you hook up with somebody, Solomon- playing is MUCH more fun than maintaining! I enjoyed riding with you a few weeks ago, but still don`t have it down for the tight stuff that I get the feeling you prefer. You don`t ever ride by yourself? Still thinking about legalizing your 400?

Rode a mixed surface megaloop yesterday, today my wife is at a church event and I`m supposed to be house cleaning. I promise I will as soon as I finish up here! I started by making my way to Soda Springs because I`ve long been curious about the Forest Hill Divide route from there to Auburn.

Following through with that plan as far as the town of Forest Hill, the riding was not as spectacular as I had imagined, but the scenery was top notch, and I saw a lot of other roads that must be checked out in the future. I`m pretty sure I could get all the way to 50 near Echo Summit on that network of back roads.

I already know the bottom end of Forest Hill Rd, and I saw a very tempting sign there that said "Colfax 15". Didn`t know about that option, and it sounded good. A single lane dirt road winds down into the North Fork canyon to the historic bridge at a day use area called Yankee Jim. What a cool swimming hole!

The other side is another one lane dirt road switchbacking out of the canyon on the Colfax side. Just out of Colfax on the road to Grass Valley is a little roadhouse that my wife and I ate at last year. I remember that it was a pretty neat place, but the food only mediocre, so I stopped there but only had coffee and fries.

And waited for Downieville to have a more substancial lunch.

Then Galloway Grade up to Henness Pass Rd. About two years ago I started pushing a bicycle + camping gear up that road, but gladly accepted the first offer I got for a lift in the back of a pickup! Wanted to see if it was really as gnarly as I had remembered, and it was. But I actually hit pavement (Pleiscene Ridge Rd?) for a few miles before the dirt part of H.P. Road. Don`t know if my memory was faulty or if the pavement has been extended a few more miles since I was last there. Any rate, Henness Pass is still a lovely route and I had some awesome views of the buttes in beautiful late afternoon light, though my attempts to get pictures of them didn`t work for beans. A few (less spectacular) pictures did turn out:

And one last pictue, since I`m totally fed up with empty reservoirs. Here`s tiny little Milton Reservoir, still miraculously full:

Sheldon NWR

I just did a one week trip to OR and back. Went through High Rock Canyon, Applegate Trail, on the way up. Eastern Sheldon NWR on the way down. (Virgin Valley to Antelope and Black Rock.)

Some picks of my most memorable day.

Pretty deep mud-hole - The water was up to the base of the seat:

The road out of the mud-hole:

After climbing to the top and looking back to where I had just come down from:

Great trip!

I am not sure how to read this map, but would like to know the general roads/trail you are following...What are the major roads that you will be taking?

I don't really know if'n it's just the seals.... There is a"crap flap" in front of the rear tyre, but not in front of the schlock. All of the fluid leaked out during the last few days of my trip. Was pogo-ing along on down the road. I believe that the thing is gas filled (nitrogen) as well. I don't stock the stuff at my house.....
