Give me that 200 Smoker. I'll show you how to ride it down the pavement...all the way back to Oklahoma! Figure it will take me about a year, or so...

You are becoming quite the bike whore, HF.
Last week you were in love with the WRR, now it's a KTM 2 smoke. Sheesh, next week it will probably be a Husaberg or something.

#2) I began to see my life flash before me!
At least moments from the past few days...What if I didn't make it back in one piece...no more shopping with sweet thang. With every turn like that: ![]() The flashbacks would come like this: ![]() ![]() Again....and again.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tired...yes. ![]() But mush onward we must, as the daylight is fast burning away. We must get off this mountain before dark sets in. ![]() ![]() Oh no....not this one again. ![]() It looks worse from this direction. I think I prefer that blind hairpin into it from the other way. Then, you don't have to stare at it and contemplate jumping the washout in the middle. I decide to wait it out. I wave Cyborg to go ahead....go on around me....I'm resting. But for some reason, he doesn't seem to want to negotiate a pass. Oh well...here we go! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok...that was a long slow one....but I made it. Stuck to that trail like my bubble gum to that wall. Cyborg is on his own back there. I press onward. Halfway down, were back in the jungle, and racing the shadows. ![]() But, I kept getting passed: ![]() It was the final humiliation at the end of a long, fulfilling day! HF

Man that altitude must have affected HF more than I thought!
Flashbacks and everything, and he didn't even mention the bear he saw! Here's HF sneaking around a tree, see him? ![]() and with a bit of sadness, HF and the WRR head back down. ![]() He did manage to make that marginal trail section with no trouble, never knew he was busy flashing back while going over it... ![]() a few trail signs ![]() Single-track fun, I called it "skinny 2-track" so HF wouldn't get worried, but I guess he did anyway. ![]() ![]() HF you forgot to talk about the bear you saw here!? ![]() (pic by HighFive) ![]() and the shadows were indeed passing us on the way down. ![]() Krabill, between here and the car and trailhead, HF almost lost it on an easy section and I almost got a picture of HF down, but no luck this time. And a fine day on the trail ends. The bike HF lusts for, among others...I really liked it too and reluctantly had to give it back to my friend I borrowed it from.

We load up the bikes, wishing we could have had more time in these hills. Next time...
![]() HF wasn't tired at all after all that riding, oh no. ![]() ![]() but he perked up when I talked about getting some good grub in Leavenworth on the way back. ![]() On the way back I sorta talked HF into another motorcycle mission for the next day, so HighFive, fess up! Next day

Who almost went down...? I said YOUR bike behaved badly and decided to get cross-rutted. But I quickly reined her in. Just a little horse bucking is all...nothing more. Nobody has a photo of HF down.Oh yeah....I saw a bear. A big boar was right next to the trail when I came around the corner. I had to yell, "Get out of my Way! This trail is not big enough for both of us!!" He got scared and ran away. He was gone before I could shoot him (with my camera). I didn't know a bear could run up such a steep hill SO FAST ! ! !I've decided if a bear wants you....he's gonna get you. Now then, who's the bike whore? We don't have any Wedding Dress Shops like this in Okiehoma: ![]() I swear the big sign outside above the door said "Wedding Dress Shop". Apparently, nothing but pure matrimony within these walls. And I'll admit, I wouldn't mind so much getting hitched to one of these. ![]() ![]() ![]() Double Ho-ch-momma!! Husaberg & Husky in one shop together! I ain't never seen nothing like this before. Hhhhmmmm.....Oh well, Let's Ride! ![]() As I pull out into traffic, ![]() It doesn't take very long for me to realize....this is my all time most favorite bike in the whole world! Where's the Preacher? HF

So fickle. Even his daughter, watching HF (OK, both of us) drool over Husky's and 'Bergs and even a Beta, said it was a done deal for HF.
I did hear mumblings about which bike would be sold, etc... When's the weddin' ? HF & Hussy

Now that folks see what the WR250R will do offroad, for the 250 dual-sport nay-sayers, check out what the WRR can do on the other end of the spectrum, serious road miles!
