Well thanks for all the input....
Turns out I pick a damn good route anyway so screw you all. I jammed out on 25 to Ossipee and picked up 41 to some side road. It was a good backroad and then I found Narrow Guage Road. Here it got interesting. Looked like I was getting on a driveway: ![]() Then ![]() then I'm looking at the gps and it shows to continue straight and the road goes to the right. I stop, I'm in the middle of the woods with NO ONE around so I ponder my options. Go right on the dirt and let the Garmin recalc, or follow my initial route straight and see what happens. Why the hesitation you ask? I was looking at a decent little grade up in front of me that was loose rock ranging from baseball to softball to basketball sized rock. What the hell, I'm not on a timeframe.... (edit, I thought I took a pic of the gravel but I can't find it - some of the water holes around had my feet under water....I can only imagine what they looked like after some rain...) ![]() Go on that for a while and it got really interesting at a few points. I didn't take a lot of pics because I was having too much fun on the pegs. Eventually I lost my gps signal somewhere in Hiram (I know this because I used "Footprints" on my phone and it gave me gps location and address - awesome), but I found my way. Here's the "Footprint" location: ![]() ![]() ![]() Later there was a close call on some soft dirt but I kept the pretty lady awake. Good weekend with family and some lovely lobstah, as you mainers say. On the way back I randomly found some more dirt, just as good as the way to Sebago, and ended up spending about half the route back home on dirt again. Only took one pic, I think I have a thing for bridges: ![]() Used Footprints again but I guess I was out there for this one as the location was only listed as a gps location and "United Stated of America" instead of a street address. On the way back there was another close call. I was coming down a steep grade on packed dirt/loose gravel when a sharp right came up. Of course the hard pack turns to soft pack and downshifting and locking up the rear almost didn't prevent me from going off the road. as I finally came to a stop, I looked off the shoulder and there was a telephone pole and some big rocks. Right in between those was the front bumper of a suv/truck, looked pretty new too. Glad I didn't end up with it....
