There's just something really, really COOL about a lady on a solo dirt ride. It may sound sexist/chauvinist/macho to say that, but I don't give a shit....it's still WAY COOL!

Thanks for the report, Tiffany.....am enjoying it all.

Talking Meeting up

I've just had a message from Miriam, the Italian woman on a GS and she is heading here to Seattle to meet up this afternoon. Maybe Thelma will be ready to take me on my way as well.
I'll have to take a look

Hmmm
we'll have to see.

Looking forward to meeting up with Miriam

Talking Miriam Arrives in Seattle

...and bloody hell, it's like having an Italian version of me around -a brunette GS rider on a bumble bee who is vegetarian and drinks tea!

Talking Goodbye to Seattle

...and to Miriam
Although we were going to ride together for today heading north towards Vancouver , Miriam has been been persuaded to stay for another day or so, mainly due to the promise of the Seattle Sea Fair and seeing the Blue Angels (US version of the Red Arrows I'm sure someone can post a pic of them somewhere on here).

I am definitely leaving now, heading out into the rain. I'm leaving Miriam in good hands at Mick's, Mick can't believe his luck, I've been staying and cooking traditional British food for him like Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding , now he has the promise of Miriam's famous lasagne tonight. happy man.

Huge thanks to Mick at Vallantine Motorworks here in Seattle for the great work he has done on Thelma and for the hospitality.
I'll maybe see more ADV riders on the road ahead- Labrador here I come.

Being a Canadian it always cool to read a rr from someone from abroad. Even more so when that person has travelled a lot. Things I take for granted (customs, speech, landscape, etc) that are special or different to someone else is always an eye opener and often make me apreciate what is right in front of me.

Safe travels, subscribed to your thread. People here as a generalization, are a bit shy but if you approach them and begin a conversaion they'll warm up and genuinely be inerested in your story, or helping you, etc

Bc to NFLD eh, wide country with vary diverse people and scenery, ENJOY ! Let me know if you'd like some suggestions for roads or places to see.

Talking Rain??

It rained all the way from Seattle to Vancouver , I think Miriam must have brought the bad weather with her, as I haven't seen any rain since leaving Los Angeles.
As a ride report, not much to say as it was highway all the way (I just wanted to get some miles covered after hanging around for so long), when the Canadian border official asked about weapons I just looked at him and said
"I'm British, we don't do weapons".

I've made it up to Sicamous (near Revelstoke) where I'm staying with a friend from England, I'm hoping to do some trail riding while I'm here. But first I have another Roast Dinner to cook, if there is anyone else from ADV in the area- come round for dnner tonight.
