Road to Cooper Harbor MI

INTRO

I hope this finds its way in the day trippin, for this is the my first thread.

Talk about flying blind.

picture and video is the plan and a tiger and a night train thats what we will be on

This ride starts just out side of Flint MI, the plan is to hit I75 to 10 just north. 115 will then take us to Frankfort.

Frankfort MI will give way to 22 and this little Hwy will get us north with the coast of Lake Michigan to are left. Hwy gave us are first rain shower and as we came up to Frankfort I could SE just a hint of blue. Traverse city weather report look like clear Sky's by mid day.

Wicked Trip

I look forward to hearing about your trip. I live in Ohio but have gotten accustomed (probably too much so for the wifee-poo) to taking 300-500 mile day trips in all directions...a number of them in Michigan. Much more bearable since I got my Airhawk pad a few days ago.

I live near Flint also and plan on making a trip up to Copper Harbor myself someday by bike. I have made the trip by truck and sled trailer.

Awaiting to see the pics and hear the rest of the story.

sorry for the delay still working on the upload

so for now check out smugmug and find robt2424 all week i have been loading pictures in. some vid to.

Mkorn (speed) ??? in 1000 miles i say one state trooper speed was set at 75 mp and did not change much.

L'Anes going north is nice. stop at a welcome center and pick up 2010 Mototcycle guide to the U.P. of Michigan. They rate the roads from 1-5 five is the best.

Corkster52 646 miles to the door. Hmmmmmm sounds goooood. About 550 from my door. last sunday that 550 took us about 11 -1/2 hours to get home. Not to bad

so as we hit the rain it starts out with us finding shelter. Looks like it will go threw fast.

Back on 115 and all of this is new to me. Roads on the bike for this long the works. Check the bike over at the gas station and all is well and the sign for Frankfort is in front of us so 22 is the right hand turn and north we go.

I have never traveled this road and the 193 mile to get here is worth it. the road travels along the coast and the small towns like empire, glen arbor and then Leland are small and with no traffic.

o
Leland is the dam foto and the foto on the bridge is sleeping bear dunes.

The view from the bridge was just way to cool. In fact turned around and drove threw the dunes to get a better look. I no from experience that if you climb the hill and run down as fast as you can it feels like you legs will come unhinge from you body

Camera mount

I am going to have to get a camera mount for my Wing! The times I take the camera along in a side back, I see basically nothing of real photo taking, but the times I don't I see some amazing stuff! Go figure!

Cry

OK this trip starts with the ?????
How much money?

where can we save?

hotel NO
camp yes

Food well I have a jet boil lets get that crap that the hikers use.
so we do

whats funny is we find someone that gives us as many MREs we can carry.
Meals Ready To Eat. and they are FREE

This helps out a lot, and they are not bad.
Just heavy

As you See you have a lot of trash. aaaaa loooootttt of trash

Steve and have not worked in some time, me two years.
Steve well lets say 1 year.

I have found work with a Friend doing all kinds of stuff. Not much we will not do.

Steve well lets just say not so much

So on 22 around to north port we go north to find a state park.
There we try are first MRE and they are not bad

From there we keep riding south to traverse city and then to Petoskey state park and set up camp.

Hot dogs on a camp fire sound good
