It's interesting. dlearl476 mentioned park model trailers in the 9th post of this thread back in 2010.

It was only after I started to look into building my own tiny house that I began to understand why so many of them were built to those standards.

His post cites a link to a seller of park trailers. I honestly could not tell you if this is a trailer or not but it's on that page.

Some states evidently require that you leave the wheels on a trailer, which sounds dumb to me.

I'd worry about how much space could possibly be wasted on a staircase. That's a hole on two floors on a real two story house. Granted, I have a ladder to the loft on my cabin that I posted here a long time ago.

Perhaps you should summon a moderator?

I was wondering about that. In Arabic culture they have huge, modernistic designs. Do they replace those every year?

That one workshop container seemed to be inside some sort of shelter.

In which case you might consider posting whatever your idea of a tiny house is.

Contributions are good. We can learn.

A fair option when trolls move in to dominate a thread with prepubescent schoolyard vitriol stemming from alcoholism and unresolved childhood issues. Maybe that's why there are mods.

This thread has led to literally hours of online research of various design ideas but lately has been more about certain individuals and their personality disorders. John and Ken needed a "time out" some days ago, IMO.

Currently I'm considering building a desert dwelling using the Super Adobe, or earth bag, system. Something that will never roll on wheels, for sure. It's trademarked but available free of licensing fees for non-commercial applications.

Google on.

Frankly I am rather offended by that comment. The thread was originally about small houses on trailers, and I have contributed content (more than you, that's for damned sure).

Going to avoid any more arguments if I can but the real hijack and juvenile behavior is elsewhere in my opinion.

If you want to discuss housing options then I suggest that you post design and construction ideas. Not personal attacks.

Hell, I'll help Schizz.

Superadobe (one word). Kinda interesting. And you are right, doesn't lend itself to wheels or being portable. Any tricks on getting it legal?

And isn't there a company north of Austin, just off the Interstate, that builds something similar?

and a mod has been summoned.

1. This is not JoMomma. Continued JM type "activity" will be met with the ban hammer.
2. I have parsed the community thread stuff from this one. Keep that thread "non-commercial" in discussion
3. This is not an RV thread, yes there is overlap- but I think most here have in their minds a difference between a "Tiny House" and an RV. We have an "RV living" thread tucked around here someplace for those interested in that. Actually, as pointed out, we have a fair number of RV threads. Keep the RV stuff in them.
4. Please, someone please, next time a thread gets so derailed let a mod know sooner, not later. I now have to go do a second prune to toss stuff the Head Explosions.

Jurgen, I will try to avoid posting wheeled stuff. Still, you have to understand that the original tiny homes were built as RV park trailers and that's because of the legalities involved. I don't think that many people realize this.

The discussion of my personal project moved to Facebook so as to avoid any commercial aspect and conflict with ADVRider. And as I said for the outset I had no problem doing it out of my own pocket, and giving it to the riding community as a gift to friends who ride. So by that it doesn't seem to be a commercial discussion as far as I can tell.

Feel free to advise otherwise if I am mistaken.

Thank you for your patience.
