Talking Saturday on my KLR....

Hello all, this is my first report so let's see how it goes.
I live in Knoxville Tennessee so there is lots of good riding to do close by. I had decided Saturday morning that i would ride to a town nearby
called Caryville and go up the mountain. One of the reasons I bought my KLR is because I thought it would pretty cool to be riding along and see a fire road or an old gravel road and say " let's see where that goes" and then go see. Since i have not yet to do that, I thought Caryville mountain would be a perfect place to try it out.
This is the start of the day in Caryville....

The mountain is made up of alot of switch back curves like this.

Then it had plenty of what i was looking for...

Even this....

Some shots of the bike....

And then I came across this....

I like these to.....

I came across this little country grocery store towards the bottom.....

Then I got back on the road .....

And had to save this guy.....

And that was the first 4 hours of the day....More soon...

As I came off the mountain I ended up in a little town called Huntsville and after traveling down the highway a bit I saw this sign....

So I rode up to see the train and all of it's scenic beauty..

So now I really don't know where I want to go so I'm just riding looking for something interesting and came across this...

Since my girlfriends name is Mary I had to take this picture

Now time for lunch, it was really good too..

I kept riding south until i was about 40 miles from Chattanooga then thought it was time to start heading home. I stopped for a few more pics so here they are....

Well that was my Saturday hope ya like....

THat was cool- I know it takes time to rig and post all the pics, and tell the story too- neatly done, now I am hungry for ribs and burgers...

Is that a 2009? The black ones sure look sharp with the decals steamed off.

Very nice ride, almost a perfect mix of interesting off-road and very nice back roads.

Toss in some good food and it doesn't get much better.

I sure do miss the greenery you have out there. I'd love to do some riding in that area. I've been to Memphis but that's it, I need to see more of that area one of these days.

Looks like a great way to spend a Saturday. You have captured the beauty of having a dual sport or adventure bike....you can just go out and "see where that road goes" even if that road is not paved. It's great to be able to get off the beaten path and away from all the tourists.

Great pics, thanks for posting

Nicely done. Took that bike to its natural environment . . . . just what they're made for.

Nice pics and report

I've eaten at that Scotty's(and the Shoney's) many times back when I had a Grizzly 4x4. Nice view from the Caryville overlook too.
Been wanting to get down there on the bike sometime soon. You rode any of Royal Blue yet?
