Havent got round to using it yet but the buttons are dicky to use, forget turning it on without taking your helmet off to see what your doing. Apart from that seems ok, dont be expecting great resolution or sound.

If I was buying now I'd buy a contour HD from the states for $279USD.
wehre was the 279 quote at steve?

Sorry I am to lazy to let my fingers do the walking :)

Cant remember mate, google was my friend, may be yours too.

RRP is $299 so shouldnt be hard to find a discounted one at that price, sometimes it easier just to use US ebay too.

Just been to Aldi (well, the 3 within a 4km radius of my house) and priced up gear for a new biker:

Jacket $59
Boots $39
Pants $49
Gloves $20

Other than a helmet, a full set of bike gear for $170. Not bad. Whilst the gear isn't top of the range, its far from bottom end rubbish either.

They also had biker socks ( a product which I never knew existed, but they seem to promise non-sweaty feet after a day in bike boots), a kidney belt, and a security chain. I trust the clothing but not the security gear.

I also noticed that as the motorbike gear is being reduced to clear, different shops have reduced identical items to different prices.

I bought myself a tankbag at $40.

It really grips my shit that aldi - a non specialist outlet - can come up with gear that is 80% of the way there, while we get ripped off at prices 4 times these prices in 'motorcycle shops'.

no doubt attaining that extra 20% of quality is where the money goes .........yeaaah rrrriight

keep it real.

seeing as you asked......

There is far more choice over there - Much better quality at much higher prices, but also much more gear at reasonable prices.
Frank Thomas, Hein Gericke to name but two massive companies that don't sell here.
ask jaqhammer - didn't he bring a whole heap back with him ?

Are you happy about it ....?

I bought the socks and kidney belt last time round --- you get what you pay for.
The Kidney belt fell to bits after 2 rides, elastic was bad and stitching came apart, the socks were the crap made my feet sweat like never before,
wore them once and they became rags.

As I suggested - move back there, think of the shipping charges you will save

Aldi socks.. I was so impressed with the first 2 pairs that I bought.. I went back and bought another 10 pairs. I wear them everytime I have my RMs on.

The Coolamx material wicks moisture away from your skin.. works for me anyway.

They now make Women's Sports bras from coolmax.

Love the socks!

Happy Snapper

P.S. bought a colour LCD TV from them last week.. works a treat in the bedroom

Same here. I've had a couple of pair from 18 months or so ago and I wear them every time I ride summer and winter.

Eerrrr, yes it does. You get expensive top of the range gear and you get Aldi (& other German cheap-o-marts like Lidl and Netto) gear at rock bottom prices for decent gear. Rumour has it that the Lidl gear is Hein Gericke old stock (Hein Gericke being a chain of bike gear stores with a decent reputation)

Big difference is that Aus either has waaaay toooo pricey gear in bike dealers, and super cheap (but good value for money) but it has nothing in between. But a market of 65 million people will always have more players than a market of 20 million people.

At least our petrol here in Aus is a third less than UK prices.

Just picked up their tank bag on special for $29.95 in Eastern Subs. Seems like a good deal as the likes of TTech, KTM and even Wolfman are no doubt 5 squillion $! Cheers to those 2 German brothers and the chinese who made it.
