I should search but I'm too lazy, good USFS roads off US 2?
So, I took my wife on the back of the Harley from Woodinville to Leavenworth and back today. Cripes, it's hot on the other side, but that's not the point....
Between Gold Bar and Leavenworth I saw quite a few FS roads leading off from 2. So, because I'm a lazy FF, rather than, you know, actually 'adventure', I thought I'd ask for suggestions...like "oh USFS xxxx is really great, there's a waterfall and hookers and a brewpub at the end." Oh, and it's gotta be something I can ride on a Uly or a Scrambler, I don't have a *real* adventure bike.

Just about any FS road shown on the maps has something to try. Most all are short out and back. Many washouts. There are enough of them still good for half or full day rides when you start trying them all.
See this thread from last weekend for a starter list. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=602392 You can check the status ahead of time at the FS site. http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/mbs/conditio...s_report.shtml You can pretty much just start heading up the highway and turn onto every road you see a sign for. Many more have no sign though. For the longer road options, try 65 (Beckeler River) and 6830 (Tonga Ridge) both near Skykomish. Do not forget to ride the paved Old Cascade highway sections that parallel Hwy 2 periodically, including Reiter road between Gold bar and Index (also paved). - Mike |

Head over to the Leavenworth/Wenatchee area and I'll show you some nice rides.
