It's hot, we are hungry, and in this part of MS, that means one thing! The Old Country Store in Lorman, MS!

On the way there, we get stuck behind a LARGE funeral procession blocking a 4 lane highway... Luckily I spot a detour on the GPS and we explore some more gravel that brings us out right at the store...

I took a couple of Blackberry pics cause she thought the battery was dying on the camera.

I was too hungry to take a pic before we started:

A large group came in right after us. When we walked out, we saw their chosen method of transport...

What? We are at an old country store, in the middle of nowhere... "See if the camera has any juice left!!!"

How many KLR's could I buy for the price of that Ferrari!?!?!?

So we are full and she is tired and has had enough of the heat. She asks for the quick way home, with no interstate... So, we decide to jump on the Natchez Trace and head back home...

Just over 200 miles on her first long trip with me! We get home and I ask her what she wants to do later on... She replies, "When it cools off this afternoon, can we go for another ride!?"

So who's ready to go?!?!

Awesome RR BW. I've been riding through Shaifer road since I was a kid. Not only is it sacred ground, it is the BEST road in 'Sippi. Way to go

This ride reinforced my need for aftermarket suspension (and possibly a better seat). I have the factory shock on 5 and 1" raising links to try to help the sag, but it isn't enough for me alone, much less 2-up! I have the factory seat with the Waly world seat pad. I'm a cheap KLR rider, so it is hard for me to justify a $300+ seat!

But hopefully I can at least get the suspension upgraded soon. Otherwise, it was fine off road. At each obstacle, I debated running first gear and putting thru, versus "when in doubt, gas it" which is what I would have done solo!

I replaced the stock seat with a Sargent World Sport Performance seat. It was pricey but SUCH an improvement over the stock. I was using the stock seat with the Wally-world pad also.

Cheers!

She doesn't have a license yet! This was a "see if she will be serious about riding with me before I buy her gear" ride, and she passed!!!

Thanks to PeachBabe for loaning the ATGATT gear!!
