It took me a page and a half and a good look at those...erm BRASS(
) rims to realize who's report I was reading. I love the terrain you guys have out west, its just so different than whats here. Don't get me wrong I love riding in IN but the terrain doesnt change for like 200 miles. Loving the pics, including our mongolian bound rally rider's flower pictures keep it up.

You Coloradoans are spoiled rotten, rain every day to water the trails and grow the wildflowers in summer,Ive been out to Steamboat Springs dirt riding and Crested Butte mt bike riding in august, sure enough it rained just enough to keep the dust down. Amazing countryside no matter which Trail I took!
I live in nor cal where we have plenty of dirt roads and trails, the silt beds are about a foot deep by now with no rain for too many months. Thanks for the pics and report, makes me want to go riding out that way again. Tami's grin is absolutely infectious! Your gas tank is truly ginourmus! Ive met the both of you in Death Valley several years ago, before the ADV banning took place out there.

I didn't do it! It's not my fault (entirely) that we were banned from DV. Honest. ![]() BTW: It's raining right now. Should be done in half an hour or so...

w00t! Another day ride today...
We decided to haul over to the other side of Monarch Pass and ride from near Sargents. We usually ride over, but today Bonnie wanted to ride her TTR 125. Friday, she did Supercamp, and they use TTR125's, so she was ready to do some sliding and bonding with the bike. And, there was some singletrack I wanted to show her. ![]() Ready to go after unloading from the van; it's SOOOOO green this summer! First, a warm up ride on some fun double track: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These roads don't get much maintenance. ![]() ![]() -more-

![]() ![]() After a nice loop, we were at the singletrack I wanted to show Bonnie. ![]() She hasn't ridden much singletrack yet; a little stretch of the Rainbow trail, and S. Triad ridge up in Fourmile- probably a total of about 12 miles. This trail is fairly mellow, but it does have some tricky sections. My idea was to do a couple of miles and turn around if it got too tough for her, but I was amazed as she just rode right through one tricky spot after another. And the mellow stuff is just fantastic! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() At the top of the steepest, gnarliest climb on the trail. ![]() ![]() -more-

After the climb there were a few more obtacles; off camber rocky downhills, etc. Other than one stall, she was kickin butt!

After the singletrack, (and still not recovered from Supercamp
) Bonnie was feeling like we should start heading back. But a little qwaad track was in order, too...![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And we were soon back to the van... This is what we bought the TTR for, and I'm happy it's finally getting some use. ![]() ![]() And, well, the 525exc just kicks ass everywhere, whether it's slow rocky singletrack or 80 mph down a sand wash. ![]() ![]() And then we went to get an AWESOME cheeseburger at the Sargent's store and restaurant. Teh end amen.
