Got together with some friends for a "leaf peeping ride" yesterday. Started off with Tami (Bonnie Abbzug), Tatterhood, Dysco, XC700116, and Snowmule, then Tatterhood split off to do her own thing (watercolor painting down by the Arkansas River!)

Tami headed up Poncha Creek road:

Blurry pic, but I like it. The road winding through the forest, my sweetheart looking through the curves. I live for this! Braap!

Got back just before dark. Sorry for keeping you guys out later than expected! Great ride!

I haven't updated this for a long time, but we never stopped riding this winter. Well, there were 2 weeks in January that were too cold, but other than that, I've been wearing the bike out.

A few highlights;

Christmas Day 2010:

New Years, riding with a buddy that came to visit from England:

Random January ride:

Big group ride I led on Jan. 26th:

Video 309 took on that group ride:

Recently we picked up a trials bike, and have been doing alot of this:

And summer is on it's way!!!

Fun writeup Hayduke!

Here's a question for you Colorado folk-- I'm an east-coaster but my fiancé's dad has a house near Carbondale. I want to get a bike out there and I'm thinking of a BMW G650 XChallenge. I want to do some mountain riding like this but also desert riding. Anyone ride an XChallenge or something comparable size-wise?

I know it mainly depends on rider skill but any insight on that size/weight/power bike in theseterrains would be greatly appreciated.

I can move to another thread if this is considered a hijack

Oh and btw duke, my dirt bike out east is an XR400 and I'm very familiar with your writeups from your XR days

It really depends on what terrain you want to ride. I think as a dual sport, for exploring big sections of the state, the Xchallenge would be a great bike. Personally I wouldn't venture on too much singletrack with one, but for most of the riding around here, i.e. jeep roads, two-tracks, two-lanes, the Xchallenge would be an excellent bike.
