Alberta to Seattle? and back in five days

I'm planning a short sanity trip next week.

I've been told I should ride Highway 20 in Washington and the highway between Kaslo and New Denver. Other than that I'm looking for sugestions.

What trip planning have you done, so far?

Maps GPS and a bike that's checked and ready. I've been through the areas before; I haven't slowed down to check much out before though.

Spot or no spot? I haven't figured out why I would want to invest in a Spot, but I have other people thelling me it is something I shouldn't leave home without. Comments?

Andrew

Hwy 20 is a very nice run. Watch your speed. WA is broke and the LEO's are in revenue generating mode.

I'm riding a GSA, the 3/4 ton of bikes; plus I'm from the land of straight roads.
I've added it to the route.
Any suggestions for inmates I should chase down to meet and share food with.
