Hi John,
I need to add a light to my Baja Designs 8" halogen race light setup, to serve as a high beam. There is a handy bolt on the side of my light frame, to which I figure I can mount something. The bike is my daily driver, as well as the occasional DS venture.

Does one of your models potentially suit this application? Again, this would be aimed like a DOT high beam...wired to my regular high beam switch.

You will be hard pressed to find a DOT legal LED light. They are out there but at a price. The Race light is not DOT legal iirc.

If DOT is not a concern, I would recommend selling the race light and going with one of our Dual Sport Fairings. It weighs less than the race light setup puts out way more light and adds functionality.

Possibly, what year and model?

LED lights need DC power. I think KTM used AC headlights up until 08.

AC powered headlight. You can add wiring that goes to the battery, hedlight switch and make it DC. Or with a bit more effort and $ convert the whole sytem to DC with a stator and regulator rectifier.

Awesome, greatly appreciated.

What kind of difference is their between the model 50 and 60? I understand the 50 has a tighter beam pattern and the 60 has a higher lumen rating. Which one do you recommend to augment the high beam headlight on a purely street bike? Does the 5 degree difference in beam pattern make a huge difference? I am assuming that the 60 reaches further and wider, but I just want to check before I order.

I already have two model 30's mounted on my 919 and they work brilliantly. Now I want a little extra to light up back roads at 0300 (HW 17 for instance...lol.) I am riding out to New Mexico again next month and the extra lighting would be nice.

Model 60 still has the edge in output and distance.

Installed the volt meter and temp gauge in the dash of my '92 BMW R100GS. There are existing holes in the dash that the meters fit into (after minor trimming on the meter cases). They work great and look like they are a stock installation.

My 60 lights suddenly stopped working so I investigated. It turns out the 12v supply plug came unplugged from the dimmer. I realized after plugging it back in that the connectors just don't hold that great (this is the 3rd time this has happened).

So...I used some heat shrink over the connectors to try to prevent this in the future.
