I do not have a storage spot but am looking for someone to ride with. I ride solo and brought my Transalp out for a couple of months. PM me and I'll send my phone and email.

If you can't find a free drop-off spot you might try Emerald Desert RV park - tons of indoor and outdoor storage. You would have to call them for cost and availability. We've stayed there a time or two, very upscale place, really nice long term storage facilities.

Howdy fellow airhead driver.

Can't really help you out on the storage, but what you're doing is pretty common for that region of CA., a few phone calls will hopefully find you what you need. When you gunna be out there?

What ya bringing to the dez? Where you going? I was out there last week with my scooter(brought in truck), only 81 degrees.

Down in the Anza Borrego last fall.

Salvation Mountain, east side of Salton Sea is worth a trip.

When the wife and I were out there a few months back, there are already rumors that this place may be short lived, now that 'ol Leonard has passed. The county/state is looking into the paints that were donated may have not been up to spec.. May have a toxic dump out there is the rumor. It's miles and miles from bfe, and they can't leave it alone, wtf?

Guys,
Are there any maps or other motorcycle related guides for the desert areas? Other information?

I recommend Tom Harrison maps - he has one for Anza Borrego that is fairly comprehensive. Tony Huegel published the By-Ways series of offroad driving guides and the SW Region edition has a lot of good info in it. I have both.

The next best thing to do is plug into the SDAR group and follow some of the locals around down there. Great place to ride and lots to see.
