Applying Decals to the LC4 18L Tank

Just bought a set of decals (KTM part) for my 18L tank. Applied them and whilst they fit fine on the top half they're just a bit out on the lower half. Anyone know if I'm safe to remove them, attempt to stretch them a little, for example with a hairdryer? Will they stick back again? I suspect the fit wasn't quite there because the temperature was low when I fitted them.

Assuming the tank was clean and the adhesive isn't covered with residue, and you try to keep the entire decal warm during the process... go for it.

I'll report results tomorrow. That's assuming I can find someone to borrow a hairdryer from.

Depending on how off the decal is you can heat it w/ the hairdryer and try to slide it into place, it if does move, push it past the correct mark a little b/c it will settle back down, that glue has a "memory" and will slowly return to it's origonal position.

I wouldn't advise peeling it off, you might stretch the decal, rendering it useless.

Too bad you didn't have a little soapy water on the surface when you started. (did you ?)
So much easier to slide the sticker around, position it and squeegee out the liquid when you have it where you want it.

Just finished. The decals now in a better position but of course it's not as good as getting it right first time - the finish isn't as smooth because, I guess, the glue's not as evenly distributed.

Good tip about the water for next time.

just spritz the area down with windex, you can move the sticker around just to where you want it, come back later, when the stuff dries, the sticker is stuck on...
