Big John's new grille was generating some serious heat on the left side, while the right burner had lapsed into a deep coma........there was a butane BBQ-styled lighter laying on the metal shelf to the left side of the grille, and halfway thru the steak grilling, this thing explodes and shoots a stream of flames which bounced off of Buggs' T-shirt (no harm, other than an elevated heart rate!)

I had a warning from OSHA and for the next big steak grilling event all butane lighters must be shielded and all grill workers must wear appropriate safety clothing.

I'm in for grilling again and bringing my Oh So popular flipper again. The lighter was a nice touch.

OH! We do need to bring along a portable torch to assist in getting those "Well Done" orders out.

Does anyone want the blue camp fire again next year?

Blue green campfire is a small package called Campfire FX. You find it in any children's section...in Canada. Of course we don't encourage kids in the USA to play with fire so you have to order it from Canada and have it mailed down here.

www.campfirefx.com

I thought it was cool stuff when I first saw it, even though few at RMAR were as impressed. I guess it's true, "Simple minds, simple pleasures."

pkman will you brew a special that is lightable with the butane when we exhale a mouthful. I want to be like the bartenders in South Beach. I'm preparing protective ponytail apparel and requesting it to be made by KLIM/

For the record......here are some facts.....

#1. Some unnamed person placed my lighter next to the grill. But I applaud that person for providing some exciting entertainment. (I have an alibi....I was cutting steaks in the shack. It wasn't me.)

#2. It was funny shit!!!!! At least three grown men soiled themselves while jumping three feet in the air.

#3. Yes, my grill was a malfunctioning piece of crap. Upon returning to the Springs, it was returned for a new one. 2011 should be a much better grilling experience.....not to mention that the Sipapu resort is going to take care of a couple of meals for us. (more details to come)
